“BTW: I had a cousin who was spanked, and he became a drug addict and hanged himself.
This proves that youre wrong.”
Absolute nonsense.
I’ve seen you on several child rearing threads-——how many children have you raised?
.
LOL!
Good one Jeff!
Being consistent and fair builds trust. Taking an interest in a child's upbringing teaches love and builds a relationship.
A child who is not disciplined does not feel loved.
Common sense tells me there are occasions when (disciplined) spanking can sometimes be the right tool for the job. If discipline can be achieved without corporal punishment, all the better. But conflating spanking with beating is like saying a stern lecture is the same as screaming and humiliating.

Good Common Sense.
I've never heard of that one but in Arizona they might like it.

“Its amazing how many people think that hitting people is the way to build trust, teach them to reason, and instill love of God and neighbor.”

All scripture is inspired by God...
No. I raised my child without ever finding a need for spanking
You’re conflating “lack of discipline” with “the absence of spanking”.
People can be raised in a strict, strong discipline, character building way that does not include spanking.
Your post exemplified sound and fury, signifying nothing.
They should learn that there are dangerous people in the world, but they should also learn that their parents are not among those dangerous people, but instead first among those who will never hurt them.
Good point.
So what means did you use to discipline your children?
And how did they turn out?
