Nowhere near as big, but certainly interesting, and much simpler to get to (though it is still quite a trip)

Kitch-iti-kipi, in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

"Chanel and Stevo"?

I hope they get stabbed to death in Peru, if only for their entitled millennial names.

The ponds are supplied by a very mineral rich spring. I’ll bet the photos don’t do it justice.

Come for the Machu Picchu. Stay for the muddy hillsides.

Pass.

These are probably the same people advising millennials to go on exciting backpacking tours of the Iranian border.

I’d rather go back to Yellowstone and see colored water ponds. I used to dream of seeing the world and places of wonder I found in my old encyclopedia but then I traveled outside our borders and found that the pictures on the postcards are never how they really are. Most Americans have no idea how lucky they are that they can travel from Florida to Washington state and be among the same great people and see amazing things. You step outside our borders (excepting Canada) and you have to be on your guard 24/7.

Try the Bonaire salt ponds and pier for something a lot closer and safer. Diving under the pier a plus.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. I love learning about other cultures, and there are lots of places I’d like to visit. But these days, I have no desire at all to travel beyond the borders of my own country. Thankfully, there’s plenty of amazing stuff to see right here.
