The ponds are supplied by a very mineral rich spring. I’ll bet the photos don’t do it justice.

Sicily's Salt Road...Marsala/Trapani, Sicily...

Not as dramatic as the Peruvian salt ponds, but (maybe) safer. Plus...there's always the Marsala wine.
