Matt Drudge has been in the White House an awful lot these days -- "all the time," as one senior administration official puts it. He's met with President Donald Trump, spent time with Ivanka Trump, and doled out advice to Jared Kushner.
That he'd have influence in the Trump White House should not be all that surprising. The internet news tycoon, who founded and edits the Drudge Report, the narrative-setting conservative news website, has been one of Trump's most ardent supporters since Trump announced his candidacy. He boosted him through the contentious Republican primaries, helped him defeat Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton by galvanizing the GOP base, and, for the better half of his young presidency, has stayed in sync with the White House's talking points.
But Drudge is blindly loyal to no one -- which could, ultimately, make him as dangerous to this White House as he has been helpful to it.

Maybe you are Drudge. Sure act like it.
Matt Drudge earned his advanced degree dumpster diving for gossip in the Hollywood trash bins.
But with excessive success comes a bit of liberalism and a sprinkle of progressivism.
Matt Drudge isn’t perfect but he has a nose for things and can influence public opinion. That’s why there were rumors of the FCC getting involved in his web activities during the Obama administration.
Contrast this to the Trump administration. Were somebody with a knack for nailing dominant public opinion is invited in to share.
I think Matt Drudge is a ‘Milo Yiannopoulos’ type conservative, closeted of course.
I’ll start getting concerned when he’s listed on DAVOS attendee list.
Sure, I’m listening now. That ABC news is the worst!
Billy C loves the Trumpster!
Caught a bit of Bill C this evening, during a quick trip to the store. He was down on Trump as well, noting Robert Mueller’s ability to develop contradictions and inconsistencies in the upcoming testimony of presidential aides and former advisers, setting up the inevitable perjury trap.
According to Billy C, Trump’s fatal mistake was appointing Sessions as Attorney General; with his ties to the campaign, he was forced to recuse himself from the Russian investigation and not only did his deputy cave in and appoint Mueller, he essentially gave him a blank check for investigations and prosecution. On the other hand, Obama picked two corrupt AGs, but he had the assurance they would never investigate the administration’s vast criminal activities.
Cunningham was bleak in his outlook on Trump. He is also an attorney, and his wife (if I’m not mistaken) is an appellate court judge in Ohio. So, he has legal expertise to buttress his opinion. Hope he’s wrong. But his message was clear (and I didn’t hear the entire segment): Mueller needs to be fired now.
I'd divide that number by at least 10 since that is the minimum amount his website automatically refreshes itself the rare times I've went there to glance at his links. Must not be doing all that well if he has to resort to such tactics to bump up the number of alleged visits he claims.
Look Trump is far from perfect and certainly not above criticism, but when you've got almost 90% of the media trashing him on a continous basis along with Dem politicians and even many in his own party, I just think it bad form for Drudge to hop on that bandwagon. If Trump is unable to drum up the votes in Congress to pass his proposals what do people expect him to do? And on top of this he has the Dems attempting a soft coup via Muellers fishing expedition. I have my issues with Trump but I would question the motives of anyone who is ostensibly on the right to start attacking him at this particular point.
I have also soured on Drudge. Wonder what leftist pressures he is succumbing to.
Your an embarrassing troll. This is an outdated article from fake news CNN. Step up your game.
Dream on.
CNN is FOS
He’s very concerned about Mueller and mission creep.
Drudge is an equal opportunity click baiter. Master of the sensational.
He pumped Trump when it clear to the whole world Clinton would win. His hits were astronomical.
Now he’s riding the other side of the fence. MSNBC has stolen a large portion of CNN”s audience.....he’s hoping to much the same. He’s has couple of Times, Post articles linked every single day.
Drudge and his “team” are click bait central......
I agree with you that it is bad form...Believe me, I am not justifying Drudge’s actions. As I said, I actually sent him a comment about it...more than once. However,
1. I don’t think his reporting has changed due to the ban. As I said, his focus seems to have changed prior t the ban.
2. Regardless of his actual page views, I still Think Drudge is far from irrelevant.
She sleeps in a large glass tank under sun lamps.
She’s a Reptilian.
I think Drudge works for himself.
Well isn’t that the whole point of a website, to generate clicks? It’s a business, what about that do some people not understand?
yup, when I used to visit Matt’s site, he posted way too many pro-homo links. I no longer visit.
Not a paywall, but he recently changed the site so it won’t render if you have an ad-blocker active.
DON’T PATRONIZE HIM ANY MORE.. I have said over and OVER AGAIN here, if FREEPERs will stop going there, Matt is going to sink!!... “ TURN HIM OFF”...
re-start your PC. Drudge doesn’t block anything.
I run ABP+ and Ghostery. FF browser.
You have mal-ware running.
