Caught a bit of Bill C this evening, during a quick trip to the store. He was down on Trump as well, noting Robert Mueller’s ability to develop contradictions and inconsistencies in the upcoming testimony of presidential aides and former advisers, setting up the inevitable perjury trap.
According to Billy C, Trump’s fatal mistake was appointing Sessions as Attorney General; with his ties to the campaign, he was forced to recuse himself from the Russian investigation and not only did his deputy cave in and appoint Mueller, he essentially gave him a blank check for investigations and prosecution. On the other hand, Obama picked two corrupt AGs, but he had the assurance they would never investigate the administration’s vast criminal activities.
Cunningham was bleak in his outlook on Trump. He is also an attorney, and his wife (if I’m not mistaken) is an appellate court judge in Ohio. So, he has legal expertise to buttress his opinion. Hope he’s wrong. But his message was clear (and I didn’t hear the entire segment): Mueller needs to be fired now.
He’s very concerned about Mueller and mission creep.
