It seems Donald Trump can hardly go anywhere without creating an awkward moment, and his latest has been directed at France’s new First Lady Brigitte Macron.
The US president and his wife Melania had just finished a museum tour of Les Invalides with the Macrons, and were saying their parting farewells when Donald approached Brigitte.
Looking her up and down, he tells the 63-year-old former teacher that she’s “in such good shape” before turning to her husband and repeating “she’s in such good physical shape… beautiful”.

Donald Trump is a very blunt and sometimes outspoken person. His thinking processes are very close to the surface, and erupt frequently, as witness his steam-of-consciousness tweets he is so fond of putting out early in the day. He frankly scares the bejesus out of many persons of “delicate” sensibilities, but these shot-from-the-hip observations are almost invariably fairly accurate, if somewhat pithy at times.
I never met a woman who didn’t appreciate an honest compliment about being in good shape and looking attractive.
He's just not a polished, slick, slimy politician like Obama, able to spew lies and meaningless syrupy weasel words without end.
The world will have to get used to blunt honesty for a change.

I'm in my early 70s, so chronologically a senior citizen. I walk a lot, watch my diet, lead a pretty dull and healthy lifestyle. When someone says that I'm in great shape, I thank them for the compliment. It's recognition that I'm doing my darndest to have age be just a number!
One reason we voted for President Trump is that he doesn't say and do things by the PC script.
Donald Trump likes to flirt a little with a beautiful woman (CNN: This is “awkward” and “beneath the dignity of the office”)
Barack Obama “prefers” the company of men (CNN: This a personal matter of “choice” and anyone who says otherwise is a homophobe)
Bill Clinton didn't earn the moniker of “B-J Clinton” for just any old reason (CNN: Boys will be boys and besides, all this was Monica's fault; or Juanita's fault ... but we don't want to discuss that one!)

You have to forgive the media, it’s been a long time and they are not used to having a heterosexual man as President or having heterosexuals of either gender the White House.
I’m the same age, and if Trump told me I was in good shape, and beautiful, I’d be very pleased.
