It seems Donald Trump can hardly go anywhere without creating an awkward moment, and his latest has been directed at Frances new First Lady Brigitte Macron.
The US president and his wife Melania had just finished a museum tour of Les Invalides with the Macrons, and were saying their parting farewells when Donald approached Brigitte.
Looking her up and down, he tells the 63-year-old former teacher that shes in such good shape before turning to her husband and repeating shes in such good physical shape
beautiful.

I think he was meaning to complement her, but it came out awkward.
Sometimes he seems like a regular guy who’s found himself in a Country Club party.
I don’t hold it against him...but when you are a billionaire, I am willing to bet no one corrects him on his Emily Post.
Im at a local restaurant last night sitting at bar to eat. The TV at one end is tuned into CNN, sound off. I was there for like 45 minutes. THE ENTIRE TIME, ROUGHLY BETWEEN 7 AND 8 PM EST, IT WAS TOTALLY ON TRUMP SAYING THAT MICRONS WIFE LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE.
My friend in France, called me this morning, over joyed at the coverage of the Trump visit. She said it was fantastic. She said the French people were laughing at the Us press making a big deal of Trump’s comments.
Now this idiot Todd saying Trump was being manhandled by the other leaders.
Why doesnt Trump basically put CNN in the back of the room, and take no more questions from them. They are clearly no different than your average grocery store tabloid.
And she probably wasn’t bleeding from here “wherever” either.
Lesson for POTUS: When you don’t know what to say, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!
When Trump was still one of the original 17 candidates I said that he reminded me of a NY Longshoreman union member that somebody had dressed up in a tuxedo.
All I can say is.. "Trump's the real deal."
And I’m sure she appreciated the comment.
POTUS is a New Yorker that’s the way we are.
Wasn’t awkward at all. She is French. She loved it. CNN can go to hell.
Lesson for you - nobody with a brain gives a flying rat’s tail about this. So don’t get your panties in a knot over it.
This explains the conversation I caught on my local radio station last night. I tuned in late and didn’t know the context.
The host asked women to call in to say if they would be offended if someone said they were “in good shape.”
Both woman callers I heard said they would not, and that they would view it as a compliment.
I would have told her she has nice bird legs, so it could have been worse.
How about Bill Clinton?
What Trump says doesn’t bother me. What bothers me is how quickly some people turn on Trump based on horrible and biased coverage by crooked media.
I suspect that most all French women would appreciate the comment from Trump.
So let's see:
Donald Trump likes to flirt a little with a beautiful woman (CNN: This is "awkward" and "beneath the dignity of the office")
Barack Obama "prefers" the company of men (CNN: This a personal matter of "choice" and anyone who says otherwise is a homophobe)
Bill Clinton didn't earn the moniker of "B-J Clinton" for just any old reason (CNN: Boys will be boys and besides, all this was Monica's fault; or Juanita's fault ... but we don't want to discuss that one!)
Don't you just love the "objective" media?
The story’s a CNN hit piece... take one look at the women on CNN and it’s obvious the men running the place are choosing women who are in ‘good shape’.
