Trump’s Son Met With Russian Lawyer After Being Promised Damaging Information on Clinton
New York Times ^ | July 9. 2017 | JO BECKER, MATT APUZZO and ADAM GOLDMAN

Posted on 07/09/2017 6:36:05 PM PDT by Pinkbell

President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before agreeing to meet with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign, according to three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it.

The meeting was also attended by his campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Mr. Manafort and Mr. Kushner only recently disclosed the meeting, though not its content, in confidential government documents described to The New York Times.

The Times reported the existence of the meeting on Saturday. But in subsequent interviews, the advisers and others revealed the motivation behind it.

The meeting — at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016, two weeks after Donald J. Trump clinched the Republican nomination — points to the central question in federal investigations of the Kremlin’s meddling in the presidential election: whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. The accounts of the meeting represent the first public indication that at least some in the campaign were willing to accept Russian help.

And while President Trump has been dogged by revelations of undisclosed meetings between his associates and the Russians, the episode at Trump Tower is the first such confirmed private meeting involving members of his inner circle during the campaign — as well as the first one known to have included his eldest son. It came at an inflection point in the campaign, when Donald Trump Jr., who served as an adviser and a surrogate, was ascendant and Mr. Manafort was consolidating power.

It is unclear whether the Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, actually produced the promised compromising information about Mrs. Clinton. But the people interviewed by The Times about the meeting said the expectation was that she would do so.

Why isn’t any person connected to White House that is being interviewed on CNN and MSNBC telling them that the company connected to this gathering is connected to DNC and the discredited dossier and it appears to be a open and shut case on that part. Point that out and the media will stay mum or change the subject

Relax.

By this time next week we'll be talking about how Trump turned this lie to his advantage.

Trump Jr. confirmed that he went into the meeting expecting to receive information from the Russian lawyer that could hurt Clinton. That is a breathtaking admission.

It was a "breathtaking" admission???!!! What imbecilic snowflakes. Are we to believe that all of the DNC and Clinton camp wouldn't have (and probably DID) jump at the chance for some/any OPRES on Trump? Should we forget all about the phony Steele, Christian Steele, British spy dossier they were all giddy about? If this is the worst thing they can find after all this time and resources, Trump has NOTHING to worry about - not that he is, of course.

They really have to keep reaching further and further to make something out of this Russian Collusion nothingburger.

Notice the NYT’s sleight of hand? Notice the conflation? It’s no longer whether Trump himself colluded. It’s no longer whether his campaign colluded with the hackers of the DNC or Podesta to commit a CRIME.

Now the goalposts have moved so much as not to even be in the same stadium. Now it’s did ANYONE connected with Trump ever meet with ANYONE having ANYTHING now or ever to do with Russia for ANY PURPOSE WHATSOEVER even if legal.

What is the crime here? How many countless millions did Hillary accept in foreign donations from foreign governments in anticipation of her winning? And we are to believe that they did not try to protect that investment by offering Hillary info on Trump? We will never know because Trump is the only one under investigation. But what is the crime? Since when is opposition research illegal? Accepting the fake Trump dossier from a foreign source was a-ok?

What a coincidence, Trump has a great G-20 and voila and right on cue the NYT is fromt an center with “Russia” once again and with the usual twenty author by line. Color me shocked.

Let’s just say this is all true....the meeting was taken to find damaging information about Clinton and the DNC. So what? That would make every conversation or meeting a journalist has with a source collusion, as well. Besides, he received no such information and offered nothing in return but the opportunity to hear what had to be said. I’m personally sick of the phrase ‘nothingburger,’ but that’s exactly what this is and it’s smothered in another hackneyed phrase, ‘weak sauce.’

Breaking: The Attorney Who Met With Trump Jr. Has Just Been Exposed!! Look Who She Works For!!!!

The attorney who met with Trump Jr. is reportedly a Russian Soros operative who works for Fusion GPS the DNC retained firm.

Jackposo.wixsite.com reported:

Today, the NY Times and others are running wild with the story that Natalia Veselnitskaya met with Donald Trump Jr, Paul Manafort, and Jared Kushner during the campaign.

The meeting took place in June 2016 when Veselnitskaya requested the meeting, claiming evidence of Russian collusion with Hillary Clinton and the DNC. After the meeting began, she changed the subject to adopting Russian children. After 20 minutes, Donald Trump Jr left the meeting.

While the mainstream media is focusing on the fact that the meeting took place with a Russian and insinuating that a 20 minute meeting constitutes collusion, burgeoning on racism, there is a deeper story.

Veselnitskaya was a Soros operative.

A spokesman for President Trump’s legal team stated “We have learned that the person who sought the meeting is associated with Fusion GPS, a firm which according to public reports, was retained by Democratic operatives to develop opposition research on the President and which commissioned the phony Steele dossier. “

While Fusion GPS refuses to name the “mysterious wealthy donor” who paid for the phony Steele dossier, numerous media reports have accused George Soros of backing the company.

Washington national security sources assess this meeting was likely another “dirty trick” attempt by Soros and Fusion GPS to create a false narrative of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Soros is well-known for his opposition to President Trump, and funds the international terrorist organization Antifa.

At this time, George Soros has not responded for comment on his backing of international terrorism.

“It was a “breathtaking” admission???!!!”

It’s ludicrous.

I used to think that these media were trying to take Trump down.

I think now it’s clear they are simply doing their own sort of click bait and it works well to get the crazy Trump haters to click or buy.

there's an old phrase in retail sales: "Sell what you have."

the Slimes is 'selling what it has.' IE., nothing.

The real question is whether or not this Russian lawyer was under IC surveillance and the Trump campaign's conversation with her was being recorded.

If so, the NY Times is likely working off a Sig-Int transcript that has the US citizen names unmasked rather than 'sources' inside the Trump campaign.

Remember that former Obama staffer Elaine Farkas stated there were sources and methods of information gathering that they didn't want Trump to know about...this may be one of them.

That's a valid point of which I was thinking. Why is it okay for Hillary's campaign to get a foreign spy to do a dossier on Trump's campaign? Isn't that collusion? If Trump got a Russian spy, it would be the end of the world. Are spies permitted as long as they are of allies or only if the person they are spying for is a Democrat? Please tell me, NYT and WaPo.

Also, why is it okay for foreign governments (our allies) to intercept info on Trump? Were they intercepting info on Hillary?

GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.

Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said. The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said.

Another source suggested the Dutch and the French spy agency, the General Directorate for External Security or DGSE, were contributors.

It is understood that GCHQ was at no point carrying out a targeted operation against Trump or his team or proactively seeking information. The alleged conversations were picked up by chance as part of routine surveillance of Russian intelligence assets. Over several months, different agencies targeting the same people began to see a pattern of connections that were flagged to intelligence officials in the US.

By chance. Sure.

I know!

I laughed when I read an article about the G20 meeting photo where Trump was in the second row. The writer was observing that Trump didn’t “bully” his way to the front of the line this time. So, regardless of what goes on, Trump will always be wrong no matter what he does or doesn’t do. Are there any REAL journalists anymore?

...according to three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it.

The Slimes must be slipping.Usually when they post cr@p like this they make reference to "twenty five unnamed sources" rather than just the piddling five they mention here.

Kushner only recently disclosed the meeting, though not its content, in confidential government documents described to The New York Times.

One or more of Mueler’s Hillary-sycophant lawyers is leaking confidential info.

I would meet with anyone to get legitimate information on Hillary’s corruption.

Why shouldn’t anyone else do the same? It’s not like the MSM would try to investigate to get that information.

So what???

That is basically the comments on the internet about this story. If you were the Hillary campaign and someone said they had real dirt on Trump you would have someone go listen. The real story is who set up this meeting which supposedly was they same people who did the Russian dossier...which leads to the idea that it was all a dem set up to begin with. So the story looks like it is flipping on the NYT and dems.

So what? Should he have said “No, I don’t want any damaging information about Clinton!”.

Hillary was scouring the hills for things like the Pussygate tape.

And last, if true that means Russia is now an ally of sorts, trying to save America from the hellish fate of president Hillary.
