The sun is heading into a period known as solar minimum, during which activity at the surface will ‘change form.’
In this time, certain types of activity, such as sunspots and solar flares will drop – but, it’s also expected to bring the development of long-lived phenomena including coronal holes.
According to NASA, solar minimum could also enhance the effects of space weather, potentially disrupting communications and navigation systems, and even causing space junk to ‘hang around.’

I went to one of John Casey’s seminars several years ago. The sun was winding down from a very active sunspot cycle into the upcoming hibernation. That speech is one of the reasons I got into amateur radio as radio wave propagation was probably the best it was going to be in my lifetime.

That is because everyone knows weather causes Solar Minimum and AGW causes weather.

I am unclear as to whether this is caused by gloBULL warming, climate change or the Russians. Would someone please clarify. Am I dead yet???
It seems to me the winters are getting colder already. This global warming is such a crock. It’s only now that we are getting true summer weather in the Northeast. But it was still 52 degrees at my CT home yesterday morning. A bit chilly for the end of June.
Get ready for a much cooler climate, As the Sun is the true rudder of our climate changes.

My father followed this. The late Iben Browning talked about the solar cycles in the 1970’s, and that things will get cold.

Years ago I ran a “Rurudyne’s Daily Global Cooling Watch” thread here and elsewhere that posted, and charted, data from the solar weather sites. The data charts were hosted on image shack and no longer display.
I called it the Gore-Hansen Minimum.

To be frank, it wore me out.
My last update was on November 19, 2008 and therein I made this statement: “The bad news is that the “maximum” may end up being as strong as the fifth cup of hot tea made with the same tea bag.”
11 year Sun cycle also seems to correlate with the Hurricane cycle...................
