Every morning in cities around the world, you will find a woman applying makeup on public transport during her daily commute.
Its a regular habit for millions of women and it is even backed by studies that say good grooming, including wearing makeup, can boost your pay packet and chances of getting promoted.
But this public preening has pissed off some people, so much so that public transportation bodies in major metropolitan cities have posted signs asking women not to apply makeup on the train or bus.

Looking at women applying makeup is an excuse for guys to look at women : )
Only if you are doing it behind the wheel of a moving vehicle.
If the light turns green and they keep putting on makeup ..... yes its rude.
Very rude. Also very distracting when you’re trying to shave.
Rush said it is inherently dangerous to be farding while driving.
Women farding (applying makeup) in public.
Well, if when I wake,I identify as a dude this question doesn't apply to me. On the other hand......
I used to take the ferry into manhattan from staten island. A half hour trip.
What you saw by the time you got to Manhattan was NOTHING LIKE that woman you saw leaving staten island!!
Make up can do wonders!!
If this is your biggest problem.....

What’s the point? You’ve just shattered the illusion.
They only ask the women to not do that?
That’s soooo 20th century
Anyone should know that it is grossly impolite to fard in public.
I don’t think public transit is really “in public”, that’s a place to put on your “not my problem” shield and get to where you’re going. You definitely shouldn’t be doing your makeup in a restaurant or other more “interactive” public place.
It certainly isn’t as rude as talking loudly on a cell phone in public. As long as the cosmetics are fragrance-free, no problem. However, I would question the choice of public transit lighting for applying makeup.
Not sure but certainly what my momma would have called "low class". Personal grooming is to be done before you leave your house.
Inside your own car different standards may apply but on the bus, train or airplane I would have received "The LOOK" if I had done any personal grooming. An exception was made if you tore a fingernail. You were allowed to use clippers to trim it but you must take care to collect all the pieces in your handkerchief to be disposed of in the trash.
