Cancer resources
Self

Posted on 05/06/2017 11:29:57 AM PDT by Dacula

My wife has stage 4 metastatic cancer. She has battled this before and survived twice.

This time the cancer has reached her brain and the doctors are a bit more apprehensive than before.

Does anyone know about grants? All of her doctors are telling us to apply for grants to pay for her medicine.

Any advice would be appreciated. I may not be able to respond right away, but I will do my best. Lots of planning and preparation on my part.

People who believe in snake oil will not be convinced otherwise. The editor claims to be an engineer and notice her tag line. She is a believer in “alternative medicine,” not evidence based medicine. Sadly, there are several others with similar beliefs in the lies of the hucksters. Pelham, your comment is basic physiology, but it goes right over the heads of way too many people commenting here. These same people also don’t get the fact that enzymes only function in a narrow pH range necessary to sustain life.

Please enlighten us on your medical training and where you received your training in cancer treatment. I seem to recall in another thread you claimed to be an engineer.

2/3rds of cancers result from chance mutations. As we age our DNA replication fidelity begins to fail, as more errors occur, and when those errors occur in oncogenes and suppressor genes, cancer results. Everything wears out as we age, all of our senses, and yes, even the ability to preserve our genome. Good nutrition and exercise will slow it down, but the inevitable happens.

The one chemical threat that most people ignore is probably the most important and that is air pollution. Humans are vacuum pumps exposing their 2 cell thickness respiratory membrane to about 12 liters of ambient air per minute. If you live in an urban area, there is no escape to the constant bombardment with particulates and chemicals in the air.

Definitely. Air pollution is one of the most insidious and one we can do the least about. It’s not only in inner cities. Beside factories, plants, and even farms, there can be exposure to toxins taken in through our lungs.

I think Americans ignore all ways toxins can get in. Look at every commercial and store, filled with toxic lotions. People will put ANYTHING on their skin, not thinking that it goes right into their bloodstreams. They will eat anything that tastes good. A lot of these things cross the blood brain barrier, which is more like a greedy nightclub bouncer you can pay to get into the club.

Btw, a Stem cell transplant is never easy for patients and I’m still suffering.
The first year is just awful for us as we are like infants. I pretty much was a bubble girl. Unless someone has been thru a donor SCT (different than when using your own cells), one can’t even imagine the recuperation process. Hopefully, your friend does not have GVHD. That’s when the donor cells attack the recipient’s body. Sun exposure can trigger skin gvhd so SCT patients need to stay covered up all summer. My chief gvhd complaint is gvhd of the eyes. Vision issues from it can’t be corrected with glasses. Apparently, I’ve got it good in comparison to most who deal with GVHD of the gut, skin, kidneys etc. I try to remind myself that I’ve got it good.

well, I suppose the hundreds of people I have met who have received traditional chemotherapy for treatment can testify otherwise.

My mother and another woman both had NHL about 15 years ago. The woman in church was pushing my mother to go the natural diet/ special vitamin route. My mom did traditional. My mom is still alive. She passed away.

A friend of mine told me of her SIL who went to some hospital in Arizona to be treated with some new natural way. Her cancer spread all Thur her body and she died.

However, 99% of everyone I’ve met or talked to who have used traditional is still here with us. It’s not easy. But, I’m here.

Your information is great for prevention. But, not for treatment.

Please chime them in. If they had a malignant brain cancer, Id truly like to hear from them. This is about cancer not benign tumors.

If I need one my only Brother is a match, or as close as you can be without being an Identical Twin.

When he was tested the people at UCLA were shocked since he is my ONLY Sibling. There is a 25% likelihood, but they test multiple Siblings of Patients and get no matches.

My Brother is in his early 70’s. I told his Wife to feed him a healthy diet and not let him do anything crazy. LOL

A guy I met was diagnosed with Lymphoma and he underwent harvested Stem Cell Therapy which did the trick for him.

While you are dealing with the fallout of the Therapy, I am happy that it worked for you. Just like Old Age, it beats the alternative. I will pray for your continued improvement.

Just another story (yes, I have many stories). #;^)

A Month after I was diagnosed with CLL, my Father was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma. I was 52, he was 82.

While I am pretty boring and have no Vices, my Father was a raging Alcoholic for 60 Years. He only quit drinking at age 79 after my Mother, a life long Smoker BTW passed away.

My Father had ONE Chemo Regimen and for all intents and purposes he was cured of his Lymphoma. He lived until age 93 and died after having a Heart Attack (his first and last) after undergoing Emergency Abdominal Surgery. He came out the Surgery with flying colors but died in Recovery two hours later.

I have been through four Chemo Regimens during the past eleven Years and have only been in Remission for a year. I almost bought the Farm about two years ago when my Immune System crashed. I ended up with Pneumonia and a mass in my Lung.

After five Antibiotic Prescriptions nothing was working so I was given Plasma Infusion Therapy which finally did the trick. If that didn’t work they were out of options.

You just take what comes and hope tomorrow will be a little better than today. Sorry for rambling on, but it’s what I seem to do here. Blah, blah, blah. LOL

Rural ares are pristine compared to urban areas. The respiratory membrane in the deep lung is only 2 cells thick while the skin has a darn good barrier many layers thick with a stratum corneum that is quite resistant to penetration by microbes and most chemicals.

It is simply best not to take advice from someone lacking any sort of qualifications. The world has always been rich with charlatans and people pretending to be experts. It is really criminal when it comes to risking the life of a loved one.

You’re very confused.

Alcalization is one of the most effective treatments for most cancers. It most definitely beats chemo, which is just a cash cow for pharma billionaires.

Metatrol, which is based on a natural substance that fights fungi, but is very concentrated, is another way that clearly beats every “traditional” treatment. Its down side is that it is somewhat costly, but not nearly as costly as traditional foolishness.

Sodium Bicarbonate is not a base.

It doesn’t radically change body pH. Its a buffer, and that is why is is extremely effective against cancer.

It is simply best not to take advice, nor treatment from someone who garners massive wealth off of your gullibility.

That is 98% of what “conventional” medicine is all about.

It produces sufficient wealth to pass around among influential legislators news sources, and bureaucrats to twist reality out of existence.

Yeah, you the editor are however passing yourself off as a medical expert. People have been arrested for not having a license to practice medicine,

Oh, btw, neither are you a chemist. Sodium bicarbonate in aqueous solution disassociates into sodium and bicarbonate. The bicarbonate is a proton acceptor, a base by definition, and will further react to form CO2 and water. You mr. surveyor are neither an expert on simple chemical reactions or cancer therapy. You best stick to measuring land with your ruler.

44 years ago I did supervise a biological water quality test lab at a county sanitation district, and prepare the required reports to send to the Regional Water Quality Control Board.

What’s your boast?

Mostly, rural areas ARE pristine compared to cities. But there are some small towns awash in bad air and water from some industrial something. And I lived in semi rural Switzerland where they use this horrible liquid fertilizer in sickening quantities that visibly runs off into waterways etc. but I agree, a healthier life can be had away from a big city.

“Sodium bicarbonate is an amphoteric compound. Aqueous solutions are very mildly alkaline”

“Sodium bicarbonate can be used as a wash to remove any acidic impurities from a crude liquid”

“Sodium bicarbonate mixed with water can be used as an antacid to treat acid indigestion and heartburn. Its reaction with stomach acid produces salt, water, and carbon dioxide”

“Since sodium bicarbonate can cause alkalosis, it is sometimes used to treat aspirin overdoses.”

“Intravenous sodium bicarbonate is an aqueous solution that is sometimes used for cases of acidosis, or when insufficient sodium or bicarbonate ions are in the blood. In cases of respiratory acidosis, the infused bicarbonate ion drives the carbonic acid/bicarbonate buffer of plasma to the left and, thus, raises the pH.”

“Some alternative practitioners, such as Tullio Simoncini, have promoted baking soda as a cancer cure, which the American Cancer Society has warned against due to both its unproven effectiveness and potential danger in use.”

“Tullio Simoncini is an Italian former physician and alternative medicine advocate. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from La Sapienza University. He is known for claiming that cancer is caused by the fungus Candida albicans, and has gone so far as to say that cancer is actually a form of candida overgrowth. He also says that cancer can be cured with injections of sodium bicarbonate. He says that he was formerly an oncologist, but that he was struck off because he prescribed sodium bicarbonate instead of conventional chemotherapy.”

“Simoncini was tried and found guilty of fraud and manslaughter in 2006 after a patient died after using Simoncini’s treatment.”

Listen, I used traditional chemotherapy and it saved my life. That is all the evidence I need.
