Cryogenically frozen brains will be 'woken up' and transplanted in donor bodies...

People who have had their brains cryogenically frozen could be 'woken up' within three years, a pioneering Italian surgeon has claimed.

Professor Sergio Canavero, Director of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group, is aiming to carry out the first human head transplant within 10 months and then wants to begin trials on brain transplants.

If the procedures are successful, he believes that frozen brains could be thawed and inserted into a donor body.

Hundreds of people who are dying or paralysed have had their bodies or brains cryogenically preserved in the hope that medical science will be able to bring them back to life and cure their conditions.

Although many experts are sceptical that huge organs like the brain can be thawed without damage, Prof Canavero said he believes the first frozen head could soon be resurrected.

Speaking to the German magazine Ooom, he said he planned to awaken patients frozen by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation which is based in Arizona.

"We will try to bring the first of the company's patients back to life, not in 100 years. As soon as the first human head transplant has taken place, i.e. no later than 2018, we will be able to attempt to reawaken the first frozen head," said Prof Canavero.

"We are currently planning the world's first brain transplant, and I consider it realistic that we will be ready in three years at the latest.

"A brain transplant has many advantages. First, there is barely any immune reaction, which means the problem of rejection does not exist.

"The brain is, in a manner of speaking, a neutral organ. If you transplant a head with vessels, nerves, tendons and muscles, rejection can pose a massive problem. This is not the case with the brain."

They always forget that by the time they can unfreeze brains, they’ll have already perfected how to fix the brain body of the hot 18 year old’s body so there will be no extra bodies.

The stomach is now being recognized as the 2nd brain...and key to running our bodies.

Bet that monkey woke up with quite a headache.
Say, did they ask that monkey to sign a release?

What I always wondered is, once the brain stops and then you somehow bring it back, is that still you?

When you go fishing and you bring back the fish dead and filleted. Then you put salt on the bare flesh, it twitches. The organism is dead, but the muscles are still alive.

When you get a heart attack, everything stops. If you bring back the heart, you live again. But you suffer memory loss and other things. Your brain was never completely dead.

So if a person dies and he is dead. And then they freeze his brain. Years later they bring it back to life. Is it still you?

If a heart attack can at best make you lose your memory or render you useless. What then if you were dead and then later have your brain frozen? Isn’t all that software gone?

If they bring you back fully. Is it just a walking android with no soul?

If it ever becomes viable for old brains to go into young bodies look for a big push for the criminal justice system to provide the young hot bodies of the condemned. Also look for crimes punishable by the death penalty to then be vastly expanded.

Several plants and animals can naturally survive hard freezing with no damage.

My daughter was in the freezer for four years (as an embryo). She is beautiful, bright, talented.

If doctors implanted a gerbil’s brain inside her head it would be a substantial improvement!

"Even if they brought Walt Disney back I doubt he’d want to stay"

Funny, I thought of Walt Disney, too. But I wondered if he'd automatically 'own' the Disney empire upon his return? (And if so, how long before he'd be dead again?) ;)

Amen to that!

The full article shows where they’re coming from. The “scientist” who is behind the procedure claims that it will make religion obsolete and that man won’t need God.

His conclusion doesn’t even follow from his premise using worldly logic. Knowing the Scriptures can help keep us from having to think through a lot of the B.S. these retrobates spout.

They will try it and there will be many failures which they will keep secret.

The brain is either alive or dead. If alive, there will be severe deterioration and loss of function. If dead, end of sentence.

Good questions and I’ll address one notion. Your soul is gone and it will not return. Until the resurrection but that has nothing to do with cryogenics. Once soul has departed it’s done.
