CNN Analyst on Syria: Trump has ‘burned all his supporters in spectacular fashion’
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 04/08/2017 12:41:23 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Talk about making lemons out of lemonade. On CNN today Josh Rogin tried his best to paint President Trump’s decision to order strikes against Syria in the worst possible light.

The CNN analyst made the claim that by ordering the strikes, Trump “burned all his supporters in spectacular fashion.”

It’s true that some prominent supporters, notably Ann Coulter, are displeased. But “all” Trump’s supporters? Or even most of them? Surely, a significant majority of people who support Trump support the strikes.

So... CNN spews some anti-Trump propaganda in order to try and separate him from his followers. Now there’s a shocker.

Well... Drudgereport (which, based on the results of the primary debates, is read by PLENTY of Trump fans) had a poll about the airstrike in which 66% of the readers approved (with 21% disapprove, and 13% didn’t know). I’d say that’s pretty good indication that Trump has NOT “burned all his supporters” and that the CNN story is just more media bullshit.

And pray tell what regime has “changed”?

None?

Then what in God’s name are some people screaming about?

Hell where was all of this worry and fretting over that raid in Yemen a few weeks ago?

From what I remember most of the same people were more ticked off that a couple of Democrats didn’t stand and applaud one of the widows.

There is also some very interesting first responder video out there... very atypical HAZMAT gear (i.e. no tyvec, sandals, no HAZMAT gloves etc...). I call it worrisome “evidence” yet perhaps it is merely MSM stock footage... which makes it pure fakery, yet again, mere facsimile, which is deceptive.

I agree with the assessment that Russia will fight to keep the Syrian nation under their control. I have to admit their cancellation of the deconfliction communication line disturbs me. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/04/07/ap-explains-us-russia-line-protected-pilots-over-syria.html. I believe we may have to deescalate to prevent further conflict.

Like hell we did. We bombed the right side and anyone who sides with Assad is a butcher as much as he is. and his father before him. I’m Glad we have a Patton in the White House instead of a weak spineless jerk. Assad has to go.

I don’t see much anti-trump screeds. Some but they are easily recognized for the same theme. That Trump is breaking all his campaign and promises.

Chill the forums are monitored and analyzed. Write thematically bad opinions and accusations then enjoy the fireworks and analyze the opinions

I too was extremely disappointed in Trump's flip flop...When you do a flip flop of that magnitude it's a major deal...We did not blindly follow Trump thru the campaign process...We hung to his every word...I saw no reason to blindly follow him now offering no evidence to side with the Washington elite...I was arguing with myself, what if he flip flops now on immigration, or the wall, or anything else???

After giving it some long hard thought today, I realize that left alone, Iran will ultimately control Syria...They will have their missiles along with those of Hizbollah in Lebanon pointed directly at Israel...There will be no protection for Christians as there is/was under Asaad...They will control both borders of Iraq...

Assad will be gone shortly anyway...Whoever takes over will be Sunni or Shia...The end of the somewhat secular government in Syia is coming to an end...

Trump has sworn to support and protect Israel...I'm all in for that...I'm afraid the ride is going to get pretty bumpy...So maybe God's got his hand in this and Trump doesn't even know it...I guess I'll stick it out with Trump...

I’m not thrilled Trump did this but withdrawing support for him on other issues would be stupid

Trump ripped up an airfield and killed a goat and you’re betrayed?? Some of you need head shrinkers.

I'm coming to the conclusion that most of the opposition on FR to President Trump rests upon the belief in conspiracy theories that make reasonable debate with the holders pointless. They are unreachable because they believe the conspiracy theories.

For example, Edgar Maddison Welch told police he went to Comet Ping Pong to investigate an online conspiracy theory known as "Pizza Gate."

I wonder where he got that idea ... now his life is ruined.

I wouldn’t worry about it. The “natural selection process” is at work here on FR as the morons out themselves.

In the meantime, FR is poisoned and tarnished by them.

I’m a Trump supporter and I am NOT disappointed. He inherited a bad situation and not doing anything would have made him look weak like Obama.

This was about more than just taking out this airbase. Numerous others were put on notice as well.

During WWII news traveled relatively slowly, compared to the speed that it travels today. When the Nazi’s were rounding up Jews and gassing them, people couldn’t believe that something so horrendous was happening.

Genocide is wrong, no matter who perpetrates it, Hitler, Saddam, Assad, Lenin, Pol Pot etc.
