CNN Analyst on Syria: Trump has ‘burned all his supporters in spectacular fashion’
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 04/08/2017 12:41:23 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Talk about making lemons out of lemonade. On CNN today Josh Rogin tried his best to paint President Trump’s decision to order strikes against Syria in the worst possible light.

The CNN analyst made the claim that by ordering the strikes, Trump “burned all his supporters in spectacular fashion.”

It’s true that some prominent supporters, notably Ann Coulter, are displeased. But “all” Trump’s supporters? Or even most of them? Surely, a significant majority of people who support Trump support the strikes.

Thanks, yeah I don’t worry about it. I do try to educate, but if people are not going to listen, I’m not beating myself up talking to myself.

Heh.

Ever watch Lawrence O’Donnell?

Me neither, but if you want to see Leftist logic on grand display, look up his broadcast from last Friday.

Brought to my attention via Mark Dice.

I knew from the beginning that he is not a conservative but rather populist/nationalist and although early one I was a Cruz supporter his embrace of the Republican establishment and their money convinced me to back Trump. I still back him now if this foray into Syria is nothing more than a punitive action for their use of WMD. But if he tries to become a player in this Middle East quagmire then I’ll have to say goodbye since there is more to lose than to gain. At this point Obama and the Democrats own the current situation and I can’t see losing any more American lives or treasure over there. I say let well enough alone.

I can see opposing and reasoned points of view. First, Assad did not drop the chemical weapons because it meant risking an American response. The other is that he felt he could get away with it, or at least felt a desire to test Trump’s resolve as opposed to Obama’s lack thereof, and found out Trump is no Obama. I doubt we’ll ever know the truth, too many people have a vested interest with either scenario to not having such come out.

Trump hasn’t vowed to wipe Saudi Arabia off the face of the earth. He HAS vowed to destroy ISIS. It’s fine to say that ISIS is pleased to observe the destructive power of the man who has committed himself to their anihilation. Maybe they really are that stupid. But asking to hear it from a known and avowed ISIS member is not asking too much.

Did I tell you he is a douche?

All this hysterical bleating and bed-wetting from so called Trump supporters accomplishes what, exactly?

That’s right, you help the left take down Trump. The only chance America has to wrest control of the fed. gubbermint from the tyrannical leftists. The last peaceful chance America has at survival.

How can you knee-jerk morons be for or against something when you don’t know the geopolitical parameters behind the decision? If the slanty-eyed fat man in North Korea was about to pull the nuclear trigger on S. Korea, or one of our cities, and the bombing in Syria stayed his hand, would you be for or against it?

In the meantime, STFU.

Explaining that you were moved to military action by pictures of dead kids is stupid. Very stupid. As if ISIS cuddles up to the little Alawite babies they come across?

Your attempt to spin this into a positive is weak. I still love Trump, but we bombed the wrong side. Just like Bosnia.

Yes and outside of conventional or nuclear weapons you would be in violation of both US Law and the Geneva Convention. The USA ratified the Geneva Protocal in 1975.

“Yes, we just helped ISIS.”

ISIS is on life support.

Trump just elevated the international standing of your country.

Don’t for a minute think that a strike on Assad and his Russian ally somehow inflates ISIS to any significant degree.

ISIS is doomed. Your president will see to that.

Trump has exhausted his good will with me by this ill-advised adventure in Syria. Any of his future decisions will be judged without any benefit of doubt.

You are mischaracterizing what Trump said. He invoked our national interest....we after all do have boots on the ground there. His personal feelings were stated after that

Do not try and convolute what some other president has done with what Trump does. It twists logic and is bad fo

I don’t feel burned at all. Proud of my President and Commander-in-Chief actually. And my understanding is that Intel from the region said it was assad so whoever is saying we didn’t know if he was responsible can suck it.
