The most ambitious reissue yet of an individual album from the Beatles catalog is coming May 26 with an expanded and newly remixed edition of the Fab Fours 1967 pop masterpiece, Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Consistently ranked by critics and fans among the most influential rock albums of all time, Sgt. Pepper is being reissued in multiple formats and editions, including new stereo and surround-sound audio mixes along with nearly three dozen previously unreleased recordings from the same sessions.

Why not, today’s music sucks so much, a 50 year old album will probably sell like hotcakes.
The music of the 50’s - 70’s was the best. It will probably never be repeated.
“It was fifty years ago today....”
50th Anniversary? Impossible. My mom bought that for me a week after it was on the shelves. No way that was 50 years ago!
Despite it’s influence, I personally think this album is overrated. Other than A Day In The Life and Good Morning, Good Morning, I dont care for the songs on it.
But thats just me.
It’s OK to be wrong.

The Who Sell Out was the best album that came out in 1967.
Some of the 80s British pop was actually pretty good.
“Within you Without you” is what kills it for me.
Could be, but I can name 100+ excellent bands from the 70's, and maybe a half dozen from the 80's.

I believe this was the Beatles last album before John Lennon got involved with Yoko Ono.
The Beatles were doing some good stuff then with Rubber Soul, Revolver and Sgt. Pepper.
Then Yoko broke up Lennon’s marriage, made him abandon his son, broke up the Beatles and turned Lennon into a drunk, whiny, leftist househusband.
Over 30 new, unreleased Beatles songs?!?!?
Not just you. It may have been eye popping in it's day but there is never a day when I think "boy would I enjoy hearing 'Lovely Rita Meter Maid', 'When I'm 64', 'She's Leaving Home', or 'Mister Kite' right now!". Does anyone?
I can listen to Rubber Soul or Revolver or Abby Road from beginning to end over and over. Sgt Pepper, not so much.
I remember buying that when it was first released and giving it to a baby sitter for Christmas.
I was afraid that she wouldn’t like it———but she did.
