Connecticut led by a Democrat legislature and governor and represented by an entirely Democrat congressional delegation ranks as dead last among the states, owing largely to its massive debt obligations and unfunded liabilities.
According to Mercatus, Connecticuts fiscal state is poor across all categories, which cover cash, budget, long-term, citizen service-level, and trust fund solvency.
The study finds:
On the basis of its fiscal solvency in five separate categories, Connecticut ranks 50th among the US states and Puerto Rico for its fiscal health. Connecticuts fiscal position is poor across all categories. With between only 0.46 and 1.19 times the cash needed to cover short-term liabilities, Connecticuts revenues matched only 94 percent of expenses, producing a deficit of $505 per capita. The state is heavily reliant on debt to finance its spending. With a negative net asset ratio of −0.88 and liabilities exceeding assets by 34 percent, per capita debt is $9,077. Total debt is $20.88 billion. Unfunded pensions are $83.31 billion on a guaranteed-to-be-paid basis, and other postemployment benefits (OPEB) are $19.53 billion. Total liabilities are equal to 53 percent of total state personal income
Under Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-WFP), the state has seen massive tax increases and exits by swarms of businesses. In 2014, a Gallup poll found that about half of the residents of Connecticut polled said that, if given the chance, they would move out of the state.

and now their governor is telling his police to DEFY federal immigration law.
IMHO this goes back to Lowell Weicker, a RINO before Rino’s were cool. It was under his Admin the State Income Tax came in. Before that CT was a Tax Free Republican State that made things. Add Billy Boy Clinton and NAFTA, and probably education that didn’t foster the next generation of draftsman, engineers and machinist and the results is the State CT is in...
Another state occupied by wealthy college graduates who believe that they are the sharpest tools in the shed.
Hey Connecticut residents, guess what is coming back now! TOLLS! That will take care of the problems.
If the elections were today and Malloy, phony Marine Blumenthal,Slimey greasy Murphy would all be reelected by huge margins, guaranteed, there is NO hope for connecticut
One note,in Malloys last election,Bill Clinton came to town and crowed how Malloy deserved to be elected because he had saved Connecticut’s economy.
Just thought you would like to know,I guess his wife would have done the same for the country.
Go President Trump
I suspect CT has the same problem we have here in NJ: The “takers” can outvote the “makers”. So many voters in these states are either not part of the tax base (and never intend to be) or the people receiving the taxes through paychecks (and their dependents).
The whole region is screwed by those dynamics (and the illegals make it so much worse); this is why our Founding Fathers, with incredible foresight, limited voting to property-owning taxpayers. Even today, those people are much more invested in the long-term viability of a state, county, and municipality.
Not all, just 51% of 'em.
Nearly every town votes "R", but the four big cities, (Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, Waterbury) vote overwhelmingly "D" - THAT'S why the Electoral College matters.
There are more slobs riding in the cart than there are pulling the cart. CT is becoming the Venezuela of New England. Wait until the zombie hordes invade the Gold Coast or the well manicured hollywierdo hideaways in the Western hills.
If Electric Boat was smart they would leave as well.
Connecticut formerly ran pretty well on the states sales tax until we started providing all sorts of benefits for illegal Alians and teens having baby’s.
After that the state could never balance its budget without being forced to by the voters.
After that that miserable former governor Lowell Weicker,I hope I spelled his name properly forced the passage of the states income tax and it’s been all downhill from there.
IfI could I’d leave Connecticut tomorrow but as usual there are always complications, like the sale of the house and the wife.
Someday Connecticut will return to a very prosperous state. But I doubt it will return during the remainder of my life time.

CN has a problem
Puerto Rico is not a Frigging state... Connecticut IS THE WORST.
True enough. my apologies.
Well, the free stuff might not have shown up yet... but they signaled their virtue. :)
When California is ranked higher, you know your state is poorly run...Mallory, try harder...you can pass Puerto Rico...
Malloy was voted in by voter fraud. They let the city of Bridgeport vote all night long and were printing ballots out on election day because they ran out. By law there should an equal amount of ballots as registered voters, but somehow the vote turn exceeded this.
To hear the emperor talk...he inherited the mess...EVERYthing is someone else s fault.
What a PUTZ!
Maybe was in this interview:

[I’m not watching it again, to find out] :(
The day after malloy defended his illegal alien stance, didn’t that guy in Bridgeport, kidnap his kid, kill his wife and stab someone else? The guy who had already been deported.
Things haven’t changed so much in Fairfield county; where many residents commute to Wall St.
We used to love to go the Concours D’Elegance, at the State Capitol on Father’s day. Mostly a Ferrari/all Italian affair.
When the state collapses we will have a big party.
More like the democRATS got involved. Gov. Malloy has run it into the sh*t-canner. The Detroit of the NE. A real hell-hole to live in. Residents and businesses are fleeing as fast as possible.
I read the biggest hinderance for people trying to escape this f*cked up excuse of a state, is they can't sell their homes. This disastrous liberal experiment of progressivism, has dropped their property values by 2/3 and still no influx of buyers.
When the majority of the population is thumbing for a ride out of town, you know the state is fried to a crisp.
