Stunned by today’s press conference? So were the broadcast and cable news network anchors who led special coverage. Here’s what they had to say right after Pres. Trump finished his remarks:
ABC: “What a remarkable window into the state of mind of the President of the United States right there.” – George Stephanopoulos, 2:12 p.m. ET.
CBS: “Well, a remarkable news conference…” – Scott Pelley, 2:12 p.m. ET.
NBC: “Pres. Trump concluding an hour and 10 minute long session with reporters in the East Room…” – Lester Holt, 2:12 p.m.
CNN: “Wow, what an amazing an hour and 15 minute briefing by the President of the United States.” – Wolf Blitzer, 2:13 p.m. ET.
Fox News: “Wow. Well, all righty then, that was some press conference.” – Melissa Francis, 2:12 p.m. ET.
MSNBC: “Well, that was a doozy of a press conference.” – Katy Tur, 2:12 p.m. ET.
Laz watched the whole thing and summed it up GREAT in another thread.
Worth looking at. But I forget the thread title.
But it will be in tomorrow’s wins where everyone can read all the high points!
A very brilliant (if a bit twisted) man who was my teacher once told me, or a group of us: “sometimes you have to act like a complete f*ing idiot” and I didn’t understand at all until Trump.
In the interests of accuracy, they should change the name of these things to "press rout" - at least for as long as President Trump is in office.
I have been surprised that this never became a bigger issue during the campaign. It's a little bit complicated but someone better at words than I am could make it clear.

President Trump needs to get control of all photography and video from the White House, if not everywhere that he goes. IIRC Obama had only his presidential photographer at events in the Oval Office after which he sent out only a few of the best pictures.
Trump, on the other hand, is often pictured out of focus, with extremely yellow hair and face, with voice breaking up etc. He is a pleasant looking man when he smiles or his face is calm. Everyone looks bad when they are saying "who" with emphasis. These seem to be the pictures chosen by the leftist media.
The loud machie-gun clicking of the huge cameras at the listening sessions is also an annoyance. There will be no record of the public comments made by President Trump or the guests without the constant loud racket of the cameras.
I am surprised that he doesn't insist on silent digital cameras.
I saw it and it was glorious! Trump dominated, slapped back HARD when the press started making false assumptions, leaving the press room whimpering like a little girl.
This is the guy we elected and this is what his voters want from him. He was not tame or reserved as he has been since the inauguration.
Evidently he had enough of being told to calm it down, and he answered a hostile room like the master he is at this. And he had fun while he did it.

Trump ate the lunch of the entire press scum assembled in the room. Have been a political junkie since 1958....and have never seen a butt whipping like Trump gave the press vermin & scum this afternoon. Go Donald J. Trump!!!
That Trump Melbourne, Florida Political Rally, this coming Saturday, should be a “blooming,barnburner” for the ages. Trumpsters will be there by the thousands!!!

The BBC over here dissed the whole thing. No word about whether there was any truth in DJT calling them “another beauty”. The liberal BBC is full of itself.

He speaks our language—I'm certain he reads our views—takes them to heart—and speaks out-loud to American citizens.
At the very beginning that’s exactly what Trump said: This is an address to the American people. You journalists get to listen in and afterwards ill answers some questions.
I saw a little of the press conference today. I could head back to my meeting after a few minutes since it was clear Trump was in control.
