This guy has some sort of disorder or some sort of fetish about being trapped and immobilized. Reads as though he was just pretending to be trapped, then got tired of waiting for the big rescue team. You’re a 40 something y/o man. Don’t you have anything better to do with your time? Even a criminal would see this is not a productive plan.
Brick up both ends and leave him there
I'll bet he was thirsty.
Too stupid to stay out of jail...
Or too stupid to stay IN jail.

Ernest T. Bass, is that you?
They need to throw the book at this guy! Give him the maximum sentence and check all of his previous convictions to see if any of the “good behavior” or “suspended sentence” time can be added back on. He needs to be behind bars for as long as possible.
light a fire.
throw a bag of squirrels on top of him.
Otis of Mayberry. Sounds like a mental disorder. If you can’t cure him...put a gps device on him or put in halfway house favoring the “in” position
I would think he qualifies for the definition of insanity. Repeating the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Either that or really prefers being in jail for 3 hots and a cot.
You ain’t heard the last of Ernest T. Bass.
On the bright side, he did win at hide-and-seek that day.
Dude is lucky he didn’t die. I know someone who died this way. The homeowner was away on vacation. The body was discovered when dripping fluid was seen in the fireplace, along with an odor, after the homeowner returned.
I just looked up Ernest T. Did you know he appeared in only 5 episodes?
