Gee....will Pac-man be able to play? (Alex “ suk my d__k “ Jones) hmmmmm Or better still , That friend of the now President Trump Tom Brady show his deplorable face? I am of the opinion that the pay scales far outweigh any benefit to our society....this got even worse when the Olympic games allowed professional players to compete . No one deserves that much $ for playing a game. No One....

Do they still do that process where superstar team captains choose teams, rather than the teams being the AFC vs. NFC???

Who won last years game???

An eternal question— considering that NFL football is so popular, why is its all star game the most ignored all star game of any professional sport???

Is there any other purpose to the Pro Bowl other than to give an opportunity for many different types of people to get laid?

As I already know the answer, have a nice day.

My theory, and it's only a guess of a theory, is that it is a combination of two reasons, in no particular order.

First, there really are very few stars in the NFL: some quarterbacks, some wide receivers, some running backs, some kickers, *maybe* a safety or two. Most positions are filled by players who are very good at what they do, but who are not individually lauded for it by the fans. By contrast, every position in MLB has its star(s), and there are few different positions in the NHL or the NBA, so there are more individuals that fans would want to see perform. (That no one from the two best teams is in the game doesn't help any.)

Second, pro football is a bruising sport, just this side of the ancient gladiatorial bouts. The Pro Bowl by definition is NFL Lite, where players do not wish to hurt each other at the end of a long season; this is good for the players and good for the league's games-that-count in future seasons, but boring for the audience.

If the NFL, really, wanted to improve upon everything that’s wrong with the Pro Bowl, then all that they would need to do is, greatly, boost the amount of money given to the participating players, to the point where it would be crazy for them to refuse to play. Also, open up the idea of having anybody in the world host future Pro Bowls, but use much of the same protocol as with countries wanting to host future Olympic Games: four years in advance of when it happens; have all of the interesting locations make bids on future Pro Bowls; make sure that everything is up to snuff (field conditions, stadium conditions, security, etc. and build/rebuild what’s necessary) and include U.S. locations, too, but have much more favor in having U.S. locations be in places where there aren’t NFL franchises.

Your last paragraph is the main reason. It isn’t really football, and has little to no benefit to winning — especially compared to the risk of getting hurt or hurting someone.
