Eeek! Official Washington is being traumatized by the tweets of Donald Trump.
Politico has chronicled the pearl clutching concern by the inside the beltway types over Trump's tweets. It seems Trump speaking directly to the people via Twitter is causing a crises among politicians and lobbyists who just don't know how to handle it as reflected in the article title, Trump’s Twitter feed traumatizes Washington.

Trump has nearly 19 million followers on twitter which he reaches directly, not including retweets and media coverage of his tweets.
A TV show like Meet the Press only reaches 1.5 million people on a good day. The old media can’t compete. Trump is the new media.

Strange, their hero FDR did the same thing with his “Fireside Chats”. What PE Trump is doing is just the 21st C version of that.

That's about halfway to the truth. The whole truth is that they like being the ones setting the agenda, either by calling in "favors" owed by the President that got him to the office or by offering new ones. That money's no good here.
