Since Tuesday, 26 to 48 inches of fresh snow had fallen, with the deepest totals at the summit. Plows were working furiously to keep lots and streets clear.
Normal resort operations could be affected as personnel struggle to deal with the snow.

Damn global warming! If we don’t do something about it we’re all going to freeze to death!
I wish we could see an end to this drought.
Show me— I am from Missouri.
I’ve spent a lot of snowy, cold times in Mammoth.
Eastern Idaho Schools are closed tomorrow due to extreme cold.
A location in Washington just recently received over 3 feet of snow in 24 hours.
Dave McCoy was a scout for the Forest Service and found a place with tons of snow. Hence, he built a tow rope in Bishop as a warm up and then built chair lifts at Mammoth in 1955. My father always dragged his kids to Mammoth for many years, since Mt. Baldy was too small.
Getting tons of snow is usual for Mammoth every five years. Last two years were brutal with little snow and limited skiing.
Those darn, ripper-snapper snowboarders. Learn how to ski.

The head of Obama’s EPA predicted there would be no snow in the Sierra Nevada Mtns by 2016. That is why they stopped sending water to the farmers and sent it to the marshes of SF for the snail darter.

It is outrageous. Few hold them accountable for what they have said and continue to say....... certainly not the MSM where you would be better off ripping a far on live television than question global warming. None of their apocalyptic predictions have come to fruition, yet the same idiots that told us over and over how the election would end continue to shove it down our throat and brand us as idiots for being skeptical.
I pray this election changes our culture where people can think for themselves and have a healthy skepticism. The fudge factors they have been putting into their climate modeling has reached an all time high and qualifies as pure fiction assuming a constant from the sun and a hockey stick graph for results, yet they tell us the science is settled.
Follow the money.
Boise has more snow on the ground than at any time in the past 30 years.
18 inches of globull warming. People can’t get out of their subdivisions because the snow is too deep.
Is Mammouth Mointain in the Himalayas?
I used to ski at Mammoth quite a bit. Twenty feet will make the mountain VERY dangerous for at least a week afterwards.
Mammoth is actually the remnants of an old volcano and there are fumaroles on the mountain. About ten years ago, three members of the ski patrol were overcome and died. It was a similar situation. A ton of snow. They were putting up the caution ropes (you can actually ski right up to the fumarole) when the snow collapsed and one fell in. The other guy went in to save him and he was overcome. The third ski patrol member tried to tunnel in from the side to save the other two and he was overcome.
It’s a great mountain, relatively easy to get to, only one 8000 foot pass to get to, about four and a half hours from LA up the 395.
I fear there will be some idiot that will go off trail or back country and end up in an avalanche. Keep your fingers crossed. Don’t screw with Mother Nature.
Got a foot of global warming today in South-Central Idaho.
Global Warming high on Thursday will be 6 degrees, and Global Warming low Thursday night will be minus 15.
Found the article from 11 years ago. Very tragic.

Just checked the thermometer ...It’s -15 right now. We’re are south of Big Sky, MT (closer to the YNP border). Supposed to hit near -30 tonight in West Yellowstone.
Tuesday night, I had to avoid toads on the mountain road and my weeping pussy willow is blooming.
In December, there were salamanders running around the yard.
Birds that always leave for the south are still here.
The deer, goats, horse and cows have minimal winter coats.
My grass is still green and there were leaves on the trees until the end of November.
It’s crazy.
:)
Apparently for some reason Boise never seemed to get the deep snows. Obviously this year will be an exception.
