NEW YORK (AP) — Longtime “Today” show viewers are being treated to a familiar sight this week as Katie Couric returns to the co-anchor chair for the first time in more than a decade.
Couric rejoined Matt Lauer on Monday to begin a weeklong stint on the NBC morning program. She told Lauer, “It just feels like I never left.”

I’m not a fan of Katie but I was impressed that she was interesting in seeing all the people behind the cameras. She must realize that it takes more than just “her” to make a good TV presentation.
After 2008, lost all respect.
I pray for Sarah Palin’s future. Hope God gives her a purposeful place in a seat of power or visibility when she is ready.

Not many were particularly impressed with how she edited a report on Gun Control "Under The Gun") to make gun rights proponents look like idiots. Even NPR thought it was a hack job.

Ah, but I’ll never forget her interviewing an ATF agent during the DC sniper scare. She sat there rolling a .223 round I her fingers, saying “I understand that these bullets are especially dangerous because they spin in the air. “
I am. This AM, she was a breath of fresh air. She's gal enough to have Matt and Al acting a bit smitten. (JMHO) Besides that, she doesn't have the baggage all the regulars on TV "news" do. The others have hopelessly delegitimized their roles as objective newscasters throughout the campaign.
I say give Katie a chance. She's not dumb. If she can stay objective and informed, she'll be a real asset to the Today show.
