My favorite Blonide song, her version of a classic rocksteady tune:

The Atomic Kittens did a great version of this song too:

A nostalgic trip back to the days of Ford Granadas, Sandinistas, the Malaise Speech, the New Jewel Movement and SALT II.

Saw her perform two summers ago a month after Trump announced. She said something uncalled for about Trump and immigration. Then she gave her pro tranny/homo speach. She stood in place without moving much. I wasn’t impressed and won’t be seing her band perform again.

Blondie ‘Call Me’ video with a model that looks remarkably like Debby Harry.

Blondie will go down in musical history as one of the most underappreciated BANDS of the 20th century.

Funk on a level rarely practiced, reggae, rock, motown.

All done very well.

I bought the “Parallel Lines” album when it came out - the song “Don’t Leave Me Hanging On The Telephone” was why, along with Debbie Harry’s appearance on the cover. Kind of lost interest in the band after that album.

“She invented rap. I hate her.”

I thought Bob Dylan invented rap. “Subterranean Homesick Blues”

Perhaps her most underrated tune:

Blondie -- Sunday Girl

I think the official video had the album version, which was just in English. The single version was in both English and French.

I loved one of the YouTube comments: "Debbie Harry could make any country's national anthem sound hot." LOL.

This was the first #1 hit song with a rap. Artists like Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, and Kurtis Blow had been rapping since the mid-'70s, and The Sugarhill Gang had the first Top 40 hit earlier in 1980 with "Rapper's Delight," but until "Rapture," rap had never been incorporated into a hit pop song.

She made it popular.

Looks like she was dabbling in drugs there. It got worse though.

I'll always forgive her for those things, after reading this great quote of hers in an Esquire magazine profile:

I would never kill an animal but I enjoy skeet shooting. I like firing guns. I’m an American.

LOL.

I’m going through an Eighties nostalgia flashback!

Reagan years were the best, and the music was part of it.

I remember an interview she gave when she was 62 and she looked very healthy compared to the atrocious Mae West interviews in the late 1980’s. I was glad to she her recover.

I read somewhere that she and some of the band members were recreational drug users early on, but got really addicted to some bad sh!t for a brief period in the late 1980s. She’s probably been clean for a long time.
