(I finally came up with this tagline)

“Tillerson served as president of the Boy Scouts of America from 2010-2012, at the time that the delegates voted to allow openly gay youths to join their troops and earn their merit badges. After the vote took place, Tillerson led the Boy Scouts to implement the change”

Not only big oil, but more ties to the Ruskies. They can obsess on that and blame everything on the Russians.
This whole Putin thing is getting really tiresome.

From Conservative Treehouse:
When you accept the scope of the challenge, and recognize it is almost impossible to change the participants therein; and further accept these career embeds will work earnestly and diligently to undermine the structure of a Trump administration at every opportunity; perhaps only then can you identify the specific skill set of a leader who knows how to deliver results within MASSIVELY COMPLEX organizations.
Leaders who know how to operate complex global organizations, mega scale corporations, which, by their very nature, may contain hostile agents to the larger corporate mission ie. Exxon/Mobil are not commonplace. Hence, the jaw-dropping compensation those elite titans of industry command.
This is where a hammer (Tillerson) and a scalpel (Bolton) can be a unique partnership toward the deconstruction and restructuring. We knew it was going to take some out-of-the-box thinking to find the specific skills needed if Donald Trump was indeed intending to cut down the anti-American endeavors within the enterprise of the State Department.
Deconstruction and realignment while simultaneously managing/controlling the amount of damage internal agents can do toward larger administration objectives is a tenuous undertaking. Taking the rotting vehicle down to the frame and cutting out the cancerous rust is going to be an epic battle with ZERO Washington DC supporters as Trump endeavors through the restoration phase.
It can be anticipated the leadership within both wings of the UniParty (Democrat and Republican) will actually prefer to impede such an effort:
There is nothing more difficult to plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage than the creation of a new order of things.
Whenever his enemies have occasion to attack the innovator they do so with the passion of partisans, while the others defend him sluggishly so that the innovator and his party alike are vulnerable.
~ Niccolo Machiavelli
Additionally, the potential economic battle -brought about by foreign nations who take exception to the pending trade realignments- can also be predicted to be waged on the destabilizing battlefield of global oil and energy (dollars as global trade currency). A looming Tillerson brings another unique attribute into the necessary America-First defense armory.

Looks like the hiring process has evolved into nothing but Priebus-hand-picked RINOs and Trump’s big business buddies.
The problems that left-wing ideologues have created in government can only be solved by people who are as committed to conservative principles as the left is to socialist principles. Doesn’t look like we’ll be solving many problems in the next 4 years.
But, hey, at least we got to vote for the slow walk to socialist collapse instead of racing off the cliff at full speed with the Democrats.

This is Trump's tool to dismantle the anti-American state department. People don't go from an engineer to CEO in something as complex as the oil indrusty without being smart at every level. Trump will hammer and cut state until they put America and Americans first.

There be Trolls on this thread. Rex Tillerson is as ‘merican as you could want.
Son of a bread truck driver. And..
Exxon does not bribe tin-hat regimes. He has relentlessly demanded expense cuts - flat to down - in administrative functions within Exxon
. He has negotiated with leaders of over 50 countries without the support or expectation that the US government would bail Exxon out. Personally, he is a real God fearing Boy Scout. He can dance a mean two-step- no pupon mustard and he negotiated the TXO merger while quail hunting in South Texas with Bob Simpson. Rex did not need to stop in the nearest convenience store and ask - where can I get me a huntn license?

Wow! There be Trolls out in force. Yes, maybe I be family. Answering the big question, Rosneft was a big opportunity to use Exxon technology to exploit oil reserves in the Russian Arctic. But..as you guys (likely do not know,) Exxon has written off it’s venture investment because of the sanctions.
In oil extraction, it is a simple cost vs return calculation. In the past 40 years, governments have gotten more savvy and negotiated much tighter deals. The Russian deal was advantageous to both Exxon and Rosneft, but the reserves both were looking for would be dwarfed by the potential in the US Arctic Reserve in Alaska.
Too the point of experience and qualification.. Rex Tillerson had to personally assuage the concerns of the Emir of Qatar when Exxon brought the cheapest LNG production facitlity in Papua New Guinea.
I knew Rex Tillerson 40 years ago, and I Knew he was destined to greatness. He is also a humble person.
