Donald Trump is expected to nominate ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson as his secretary of state, two sources close to the transition process told NBC News on Saturday.

The 64-year-old veteran oil executive has no government or diplomatic experience, although he has ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The pick would put to rest weeks-long speculation of who would earn the post as the U.S.'s top diplomat, and would place Tillerson fourth in line to the presidency.

“Rudy should have been SOS, and Christie, Huckabee, Gingrich, and Palin should get roles somewhere. These are the people that stood by him from the beginning.”

We keep hearing how Mr. Trump values loyalty so much. We shall see if that’s actually true.

His early picks were fantastic...Sessions, etc. Sure hope he is not being steered away from what got him elected.

You think the same basic set of senators will give Trump a bigger fight than Obama’s appointments?

Wow! There be Trolls out in force. Yes, maybe I be family. Answering the big question, Rosneft was a big opportunity to use Exxon technology to exploit oil reserves in the Russian Arctic. But..as you guys (likely do not know,) Exxon has written off it’s venture investment because of the sanctions.
In oil extraction, it is a simple cost vs return calculation. In the past 40 years, governments have gotten more savvy and negotiated much tighter deals. The Russian deal was advantageous to both Exxon and Rosneft, but the reserves both were looking for would be dwarfed by the potential in the US Arctic Reserve in Alaska.
Too the point of experience and qualification.. Rex Tillerson had to personally assuage the concerns of the Emir of Qatar when Exxon brought the cheapest LNG production facitlity in Papua New Guinea.
I knew Rex Tillerson 40 years ago, and I Knew he was destined to greatness. He is also a humble person.

I know. I despise the establishment types worming their way in when folks like the people listed stuck by him through thick and thin:

“Right now there are hundreds of establishment quislings, Trojan horses trying to get into this administration, swearing, ‘Oh I was for Trump this whole time’ when they weren’t,” complained Roger Stone, an informal Trump adviser who met with Trump this week, on Alex Jones’ radio program.

If this guy goes into the State Department and annihilates 75% of the dangerous freaks working there, that’s good enough for me.

Obviously any idiot can be SOS, just look at Kerry.

The President calls the shots on foreign policy, the SOS is a superfluous messenger boy

If this is about destroying the State Department, this looks like a guy who could do it.

I don’t know squat about Mr. Tillerson to render an informed opinion.

Oh noze! That would be like having openly gay people attend Church and receive the holy Spirit because they opened their hearts to Jesus and asked Him in. How foul is that?

I just listened to an hour long speech by Tillerson where he talked non-stop about US energy independence and how important it is to seize the moment and promote US energy. Sounded like less than two year old speech.

He took a large part in the downfall of a once great organization in the cause of advancing immoral behavior and political correctness. That’s not a virtue I want in any leader.

No I am saying he should be vigilant and not fall into any traps they lay. In fact, it was Trump who brought up Russia in his rallies that started this “Oh look Trump is friendly with Russia” frenzy on the left and with Hillary.

I remember when the emails started coming out and the left and Hillary started the “Russia is responsible because they want Trump to win” message. I thought man, here we go- they are going to blame the DNC hacking on Russia and Trump connection and guess what, they did and still are. Now it’s come to Obama and his investigation. CIA still works for Obama until 1/20/16.

WAPO did an article that now says CIA is saying RNC was hacked by Russia didn’t release any of their emails. RNC of course screamed back that no, they were never hacked.

It’s being set up for a constitutional court crisis like Florida Bush vs. Gore.

We all thought Stein wouldn’t get as far as she did- well, she did in fact continue like a rabid dog with recounts.

I do not trust DNC, HILLARY AND OBAMA. They have a plan B-F and that is what I am concerned about.

I’m wondering if Trump has been told if he doesn’t put certain people in then the REPUBS in Congress will not work with him in passing anything. I can see the leaders pushing back on Trump you help us we will help you.
