Rep. Tammy Duckworth worries her congressional colleagues don’t fully appreciate the importance of a civilian-run military. As a combat-wounded Iraq War veteran and incoming Illinois senator, she finds that troubling.
“I believe so strongly that the military is subservient to civilian leaders,” she said Wednesday. “I went to fight in a war I didn’t believe was one we should be engaged in, but the president and Congress believed it was the right thing to do. So I’m proud of that. I would go back.
“Every part of my being as a former military officer says what (Congress is) doing now is wrong.”
Then when I went to comment on the story, I found I couldn't because I am not a member of Facebook. I am not a member because I refuse to be part of Facebook's sociological experimentation with information people post on Facebook. Are our military magazines becoming more liberal? I have read most of them off and on for years. This particular article is a departure. I hope the nomination of Mattis is not thwarted as it is clear to me the armed forces and its leadership have been sorely weakened under Obama's rule.
He won't and they have. Trump will prevent the former and rectify the latter.
That is the new lib “concern:” that the Trump Junta will be a (alt) right wing dictatorship, with women and minorities most at risk. If she cared about the troops, she would not be a Democrat.
The liberal excrement (and/or its contributors) will disappear rapidly from the pages of military magazines once Jim Mattis becomes Secretary of Defense.
Expect this and other improvements in the military starting January 20, 2017, as well as the fun of watching liberals fill their sagging diapers in sputtering outrage.
She’s pro abort all the way...public funding, no parental notification.
She is pro gay marriage.
She is against vouchers.
She is for the DREAM act.
She is for obamacare.
She wanted the Bush tax cuts to expire and is for raising taxes rates. She is against repealing inheritance tax.
She has some pro gun statements, but mostly she is a hard-core liberal.

I don’t know about magazines but all military “Times” papers have been owned by Gannett ( ultra left ) and now it’s spinoffs since the late 90s.

I never saw Leatherneck Magazine as being liberal. The content was always relevant and never political.

Becasue she's a female, AND a wounded Iraq vet; haven;t you been paying attention? If she could tack "wise latina" on to the front of her resume, she would be the go to person for every comment about everything for the left.
Nothing I can point to as direct cause, but I’ve always had the opinion that Duckworth was an astro-turf.

By that logic Condoleezza Rice should have been the go to person for all things foreign policy back in the day. She had years of experience in that field but should could also tack on the black and female tags.
I must have missed how the media treated her as the wise expert that would add valuable insight to current issues.
Nothing surprises me any more. This nation has gone to hell in a hand basket because of liberals and their stinking commie ways. The schools have been lost to their lies and liberal ways. The military has homos openly sucking face in photos of returning troops. Instead of showing the father, mother and children, they show the photos of a couple of homos sucking face. Makes me want to puke. I am so stinking glad that I am retired. I’d either quit before retirement or got court martialed for my anti homo comments. I could not have served today. I’d have said to hell with the country, if this is what we have become, maybe we deserve to get blown to hell. Because the Lord God of Heaven is going to blow this nation to hell one day anyway for what this nation has become. The pile of garbage against this country is a mile high and God does not forgive those who refuse to repent their sins. One day, and soon, America is going to disappear into the dust bin of history. God will see to it.

I know my military magazines are now far more liberal. They now hold 40 rounds rather than 10.
