Anything hotter than a jalapeno is too much for me - I mix ketchup 3 to 1 with Siracha and it’s just right.

Why do people who make lists assume no one knows anything?

Years ago I considered the Pepperoncini a spicy pepper...

this year I grew the Naga Jolokia 'Ghost Pepper'... didn't say I 'ate' it.

I’ve never felt anything like that so-called “runner’s high” from eating anything with hot peppers. I’m not going to try something painfully hot just to see if that’s what it takes.

Water doesn’t actually help you cool off from hot food. If it’s cold it actually makes it worse by contracting your pores with hot stuff in them. Sour cream soothes hot food pain. Which isn’t terribly good for you.

"1. Chili peppers help you burn more calories by raising the body’s core temperature during digestion."

I don't think so.

I love my peppers. Funny story from when I worked at an A&P grocery store when I was younger.

Woman came through my line and asked if the peppers she had were hot. I said only one way to tell and I picked one up and ate it. I had to rush to the back of the store to the water fountain to extinguish the fire that explode in my mouth. When I got back to my cash register, still so hoarse I could barely get out the, yeah very hot, for her to retort I don't want them then. It was all I could do to contain myself from coming across the conveyor belt after her.

Needless to say, I never tried another thing for someone. 8>)

23. Ghost peppers also make excellent suppositories.

Well, that's what I tell my liberal friends, anyway.

Foods taste bland to me if it is not spiced up, mainly from hot sauces and chili peppers. I put Tabasco on everything but it can become routine and I need something hotter from time to time. I have never had any stomach or intestinal problems from hot peppers.

I learned to eat tacos while still in the high chair. My mom said I started asking for the hot sauce after seeing my dad putting it on his tacos. My eyes would tear up but my mom said I always asked for more. Been eating that way ever since.

If your nose is not running after eating, it wasn't hot enough. :-)

I am covered! I am always adding Tabasco and Cayenne pepper to foods. Lve raw peppers as well. When I am sick but can eat, I will have a bowl of chili beans, butbestbit with raw yellow chili peppers. I can eat up to a half a jar of these raw peppers with a single bowl of chili. Surprisingly, they dont seem nearly as hot when I am sick as when I am healthy.

I dont know why this home remedy works for me and seems to speed up my recovery. It does leave me sweating profusely after eatingbthem, butbthat is a small price to pay when I am sick.

I didnt notice the article mention that chili peppers arevloaded with Vitamin C. Maybe I read too fast.

Peppers are my friend. I love them, put them on all kinds of foods to spice them up. Yummy.

A little thin for my taste, so I thicken it with Wal-Mart's Hot Salsa.

Gets your attention without throwing you to the ground.
