The full moon of November 14, 2016 is not only the biggest, closest and brightest supermoon of this year. Its the closest supermoon since January 26, 1948. Should you watch for this full moon on the night of November 14? Sure, and, if you do, itll be beautiful. But, for us in the Americas the moon is closer to full on the night of November 13.
The moon turns precisely full on November 14, 2016 at 13:52 UTC. This full moon instant will happen in the morning hours before sunrise November 14 in western North America and on many Pacific islands, east of the International Date Line...
The moon wont come this close to Earth again until November 25, 2034...

I’m excited! I love this stuff. :)
Is the Supermoon triggering the earthquakes in New Zealand and Argentina?
Interesting factoid:
Last super moon like this happened about 2 months after state of Isreal was formed.
Make the Moon Super Again.
Israel became a nation in 1948. Just wow
Yeah yeah, now every full moon claims to be a supermoon.
I’m getting tired of these snowflake planetary bodies.
I think we should just get back to STEM moons and leave it at that.
That was sarcasm,right ?
There is a super moon every time Hillary bends over!
If only....we’re supposed to get an inch of rain tonight
I went out last night about 3:00 Am EST and just marveled. That was far and away the brightest moonlight I have ever seen. I had a triple header. The moon was (nearly) full, quite large and it was a crystal clear night where I live.
Nope.
I've had it with planetary posturing.
Bummer, hope ya are not a teacher, tho,on second thought,ya qualify
Trump elected. Days later SuperMoon appears. #winning
Good chance it is at least contributing to it. The moon has a long known affect on tides, a celestial body that close has a great gravitational affect on the planet.
Solar activity is also having an effect though. Historically the times of reduced solar activity have also coincided with periods of increased geological activity. One of the worst earthquakes in US history was along the New Madrid fault in 1810. This was also at the end of the Dalton Minimum, which also saw some of the most harsh winters in history.
Several good general articles here

Here is an article dealing with geological activity and solar activity. Interesting read.

I was wondering about that too.

Last week at this time, I was operating on minimal sleep. Staying up late to see the Trump rallies and getting up at 4:30 in morning to head to Manhattan. Election night, I pulled pretty much an all-nighter. I was so tired last night!
Now I am caught up on my sleep and looking forward to Super Moon as Donald Trump prepares to take over the presidency of the United States. And my late dog is still very much with me in spirit.
Say, wasn’t 1948 also the year where Dewey beat Truman ;?
The Moon will look hugh, if it near the horizon with the prism effect.
