Cancel any upcoming flights to the moon, because living in Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack home is a great reason to stay on Earth.
Named "Villa Maggio," Sinatra's hideaway from Hollywood is on the market for $3.9 million. The Palm Desert, California home was a spot where Sinatra and fellow Rat Pack members Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop would hang out and get some R&R from their fans in a private location.

That’s some pretty choice early sixties gear.
I see McIntosh and Fisher pieces right off the bat.
DAMN!!! I’m only 48 but booze would have NEVER been my first answer at 40!
Hope i’m not slippin.
Forget about it. The number probably ranks in the thousands.
That system would still sound pretty damn good today.
What if we all pitch in?
I’m good for $5.00.

IIRC, JFK had made plans to stay at Sinatra’s home for a weekend, circa 1962-63. Sinatra had made some improvements to his property in anticipation of this event, including the installation of a heliport.
However, JFK’s brother Bobby, who was the AG, nixed the plan because of Sinatra’s mob ties and instead decided that the President should stay at the home of Bing Crosby, a Republican.
It was left to Rat Pack member Peter Lawford, who was then married to a Kennedy sister, to break the news to Sinatra.
Sinatra didn’t take it well. Not only did he destroy the heliport, he also excommunicated Lawford from the Rat Pack because of Lawford’s inability to convince the Kennedys to stay with Sinatra.
Lawford had originally been cast as Alan A. Dale in Sinatra’s upcoming film, “Robin and the 7 Hoods.” Sinatra pulled Lawford from the cast, had the part rewritten for a singer, and replaced Lawford with Bing Crosby.
I’ll have to sell my Berkshire Hathaway stock.
Oh, wait, I don’t have any.
Looks like Ray Charles was his decorator.
Exterior-possibilities. Interior-HIDEOUS! A nightmare of brown. Proof that money can’t buy taste. Would need gutting and at least $3 million in white paint.
lol

“”No...that was his main home.””
Was that in Rancho Mirage? I’ve always heard about his home there but never this one. It must be the other one that had his model trains housed in a huge room or even a separate building? It was probably the Hewell Houser show that made his hobby known to the public.

The video doesn’t work....
“”Looks like Ray Charles was his decorator.””
I agree - too dark and too cluttered. I wouldn’t want to have been the one to clean it!!!!
The fire in the fireplace looks photoshopped.
I was gifted Sinatra’s hits and a few select albums that were burned to CDR direct from the studio master tapes. After Sinatra became “big” he demanded the highest level of recording quality.
Note in the photo he even had center 3rd channel to help hear the mix of his vocals.
Ava was supposed to be the love of his life (so I read) but their fights were legendary. I think Ava had an alcohol problem from (also) what i have read.
awesome post...I did NOT know he was a train enthusiast!
