USA Today publisher Gannett, suffering from the ongoing print-ad declines that have hurt the broader newspaper industry, is cutting jobs as it reported a loss in its latest quarter.
The company said it is cutting 2 percent of its staff. Gannett had nearly 19,000 employees at the end of 2015, suggesting more than 300 jobs were lost. Gannett spokeswoman Amber Allman did not reply to a question asking how many employees are losing their jobs.

Down with the MSM. May they pass into history as a former blight on humanity.
You can’t even find USA Today at hotels anymore...let alone on street corners.
I thought USA Today shut down
Last time I even tried to look at that rag online I was greeted with a full-page “Let’s Make History!” Hillary ad. That’s as far as I got, too. Let it die.
Me either, I stopped reading the papers several years ago.
I travel a lot and often, there is a free (and not requested) USA Today in front of my room door in the morning. I promptly throw it in the trash can without reading it. But I wonder if their “readership” figures for advertising purposes include these giveaways.

Cancel your subscriptions. Kill your TV. The way forward is economic warfare. If canceling a subscription or cable package results in just one media whore getting fired—I don’t care if it’s some young copy editor—then we should gleefully do it.
Die
Every Gannett-owned local rag has turned into a version of USA Today, with a handful of local pages that have the same article reprinted several times during the week.(such as the AZ Republic)
Among the benefits of a Trump win will be the realization by billionaire investors like Carlos Slim that mainstream media investments do not yield the desired political outcomes. The church of leftism recognizes two sacraments: money and votes. If money invested in The New York Times, USA Today, etc., does not yield the votes, the investors will look to sell or cut their losses by shutting down the newspapers and magazines. A fanatic like Soros may continue, but the rest of the billionaire class will bail out of media ownership.
Agree 1,000,000 percent. We have far more economic power than political. We should wield it as a club.
Go belly up Gannett.

Gannett editors are the liars, who buy an old conservative fish wrap, fire any conservatives, and then run an anti Trump editorial saying it is the first non republican editorial in over a century. Of course they fail to say any republican was fired when Gannett bought that fish wrap.
Good .... down the drain
Gannett to Hell...
Enjoy welfare, “journalists”....
