Apple just sent out invites for a press conference on Wednesday, September 7. The company will most likely unveil the next iPhone. The invite doesnt say much. Apple usually likes to give hints but this time, it just says See you on the 7th. The event will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. This large venue has already been used for the WWDC keynote in June.
For the past three years, Apple has unveiled a new iPhone in early September. Everything indicates that Apple is going to follow the same pattern this year with a new iPhone. But what do we know about the iPhone exactly?
Many leaks show that the iPhone 7 (or whatever Apple calls it) will feature more or less the same design as the iPhone 6s. The antenna lines at the back will be streamlined and the camera will be a bit more prominent. And yes, it looks like the audio port is going away.
For the bigger model, Apple could introduce a dual-lens camera system. Two cameras could let iPhone users shoot better photos in low-light conditions it could also improve HDR performance and color fidelity. Or it would let you use an optical zoom with two different angles. We dont really know yet.
Apple could also use this opportunity to unveil new MacBook Pro computers. There have been many rumors about an upcoming MacBook Pro with a Touch ID sensor and a curious OLED mini screen above the keyboard. The Apple Watch should also receive an update before the holidays. Will it happen on September 7 or later? Its unclear.
TechCrunch will have a team on the ground to liveblog, take photos, shoot hands-on videos and more. And if you dont plan to buy a new iPhone, iOS 10 is also coming in September. Read my preview to find out whats coming your way.
I hope there is a new MBP released. Mine is five years old.
Do you know when the first iPhone 7 can be picked up?
Galaxy Note 7 is the finest smartphone ever made. I’ve ordered mine, and can’t wait to get it.
The latest Apple/Mac/iOS Pings can be found by searching Keyword "ApplePingList" on FreeRepublic's Search.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me
Usually two to three weeks after the announcement. I suspect September 23rd.
Do you think the Apple stores in Mexico will have them then?
This puppy’s stock hasn’t budged in two years.
They ever lose their geek base it’ over.
I think google will be the dominant force in self driving cars also. Not apple.
Uh, no. . .
Samsungs hot new Galaxy Note 7 still isnt as fast as last years iPhone 6s
The iPhone 7 will be at least twice as fast as the iPhone 6S.
But I hope you enjoy your new Note 7.
But hey, I'm sure the new features are just sooo "uber cool". d;^D
Ya know yer my fav Apple Fanboy, man. Glad ta see ya razzin me back a bit here lately. I was feelin neglected. d:^)
Probably not right away. Apple usually rolls the flagship iPhones out in its 10 primary markets and then the rest of the world later. Mexico is not one of the ten.
Okay. Thanks for your prompt reply and thanks for the work you do on the ping list. A thankless task with all the Apple hater trolls I am sure.
Looks like a have a trip to Miami in the near future...

Apple is planning to release new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models as early as October, while it is also working on a new standalone 5K display in partnership with LG and new iMacs with the option for the latest AMD graphics chips.

The invitations, in case you didn't bother to read the article, are for the world wide PRESS, CopperTop. This is an announcement for a limited seating venue, it is not open to the public.
You come into Apple threads and start slinging insults and spewing mud all over the place when you've never even used any Apple products so you don't have a clue what you are smearing. Incidentally, the number of Apple devices in use now top over 1.3 billion. That's some "elite" group of users.
The total cost of ownership of Apple products has been consistently shown to be lower than their competitions' products when resale value is calculated in. I can assure you we have found that to be true for the Macs we use in my office. IBM is now discovering it to be true in even daily use as the are converting to Macs and other Apple products company wide at the rate of 2200 per week. Since doing so, they have discovered they are saving 45% on their IT department help desk calls as Apple Macs require far less maintenance and support than do the Windows PCs they replaced.
Apple sure isn’t giving away the MacBook Pro! $2500 fully loaded I understand. 15 inch. Have been waiting since June Show to get one. But still not out...
Meh
I’m off contract with AT&T since January. Torn between the LG G5 and Samsung S7. I’ve “enjoyed” an LG Incite before and hated the damned thing. But since the Galaxy S4 is working just fine, I may not upgrade at all.
My 6 is already self destructing.
Unless I use the speaker phone I don’t get more than 30% out of the regular ear speaker.
The Good Lord rewards those who wait. ;^)
