Had to look this one up:

The size of an atom is governed by the average location of its electrons. Nuclei are around 100,000 times smaller than the atoms they’re housed in. If the nucleus were the size of a peanut, the atom would be about the size of a baseball stadium. If we lost all the dead space inside our atoms, we would each be able to fit into a particle of lead dust, and the entire human race would fit into the volume of a sugar cube.

As you might guess, these spaced-out particles make up only a tiny portion of your mass. The protons and neutrons inside of an atom’s nucleus are each made up of three quarks. The mass of the quarks, which comes from their interaction with the Higgs field, accounts for just a few percent of the mass of a proton or neutron. Gluons, carriers of the strong nuclear force that holds these quarks together, are completely massless.

If your mass doesn’t come from the masses of these particles, where does it come from? Energy. Scientists believe that almost all of your body’s mass comes from the kinetic energy of the quarks and the binding energy of the gluons.

Between the particles is not empty. It is filled with time.

H3ll, scientists can't even figure out how the Eastern Islanders got those funky statues up their hills. They suspect it was sometime before the last trees on the island were felled around 1600, but they don't even know that for sure.

If they can't figure out what happened just over 400 years ago, how are they supposed to know what happened 4.5 billion years ago? Or however old the earth really is?

have to disagree. God gave us Minds that were beautiful enough to discover these things.just because there’s a God doesn’t mean we can’t discover things and explain them. Doesn’t mean there’s not a God. But it doesn’t mean we can’t discover things and know things. Your answer was adequate several thousand years ago. It isn’t now. God gave us the grace to Make advances. Not to put our heads in the sand.

No kidding, it is all guesstimates and conjecture.

Ditto with MAN_MADE global warming. Who caused the last global warming which ended the ice age? Cave man?

All our atoms are as old as the universe. (Matter cannot be created nor destroyed - elementary Physics)
Afterglow of the Big Bang. That is, if you accept the theory.
“volume of a sugar cube.” How big would the sugar cube be if you took out all the ‘space’ between the atoms?

Golly gee whiz! go easy on the revelations here, my feeble brain might get overwhelmed.

And when you tune your TV between stations, a small percentage of the static you see is actually the afterglow of the Big Bang.

Not anymore. The Big Bang missed the digital conversion deadline.

Matter cannot be created nor destroyed - elementary Physics

Matter can be converted to pure energy and vice-versa - quantum (non-elementary) physics.

“Light from some stars takes so long to travel to our eyes that when you look at the star-speckled night sky you’re actually peering deep into the past. NASA’s Hubble Telescope can look as far back as 100 million years ago.”

Yet this source says 13.7 billion years....

Actually, the last prolonged global warming period ended around 1380. Life was good while it lasted. The vikings stopped pillaging their neighbors, settled Iceland, Greenland and (even briefly) modern Newfoundland, where they planted grape arbors and made wine for two decades or so until the natives grew too much for them to handle.

They lasted four centuries in Greenland. They even left written and archeology records which indicate at least one dairy farmer had a herd of 3000 head of cattle.
