The Drudge Report is highlighting Free Republic in the top-rated website's Fourth of July weekend format change to a red, white and blue page layout from the Drudge Report's traditional black and white.
While most of the typeface is in blue, a select five conservative news/author sites out of over one hundred sites linked at the Drudge Report are highlighted in red:
Free Republic, Breitbart, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Mark Steyn.
The Drudge Report and Free Republic have ties going back to the dawn of the political age on the Internet in the late 1990s.
Happy Fourth, Matt!
I remember Matt’s breaking of the Monica Lewinsky story like it was yesterday.
Happy 4th of July, Matt Drudge!
The man still gets more mileage out of a single page of plain HTML than anyone on the internet!
(Said lovingly, the 4th is just a day on the calendar - Independence Day is far more appropriate, reminding folks what this is all about)
When did Drudge start linking FR again? I thought he dropped the link more than ten years ago.
As of this moment, only National Review is highlighted in red.
The only link I see in red is Free Republic
Excellent! Faith, family and Freedom!
The cookies on your computer highlights the links on Drudge that you visit.
sweeet!
