Heart attack victims in the United States are becoming younger and fatter, a new study reveals. The average age of people suffering the deadliest heart attacks fell from 64 years old to 60 years old over the past two decades, Cleveland Clinic researchers report. And obesity is now implicated in 40 percent of severe heart attacks.
Heart attack sufferers are also more likely to smoke and have high blood pressure, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) than patients of 20 years ago, the researchers found.

Would you be willing to take a heart attack in exchange for being younger; apparently a lot of people are taking that trade off. But also fatter.
I don’t think it’s a choice of choosing to be younger or having a heart attack.
But that’s what it says.
Heart attacks are a matter of choosing your heredity. I chose poorly. ;-( ( Haven’t had one yet but my family has keeled over from them from the ripe old age of 34 hence my atorvastatin and lisinipril.)
We either blow a valve or a gasket. We run hot and fast and with a mixture way too rich for our health. Neither way a terrible way to go if it is your time. God forbid my mind goes and I turn into a liberal.
1. Women and minorities hardest hit. This is why we need more government outreach programs.
2. Evil corporations marketing unhealthy food to hapless consumers. This is why we need more government control.
3. Healthy food too expensive for those on foodstamps. This is why we need more welfare.
4. Evil Pharmaceuticals withholding/over charging for life-saving drugs. This is why we need socialized health care.
5. If you disagree, you're a racist.
I’ve been watching shows from the 50s-60s-70s.
Seems people were more slender then. Esp. the women and their 24 in waist.
What has changed? Government interference?
Fast food and stupid people.
NO. The answer is ban all hamburgers and fries.
Ban showing “Hamburger: The Movie”
Shoot Ronald McDonald.
Play: Jack Mack and the Heart Attack (I think that’s the correct name of a good rock band who did the key music to the movie about freestyle skiing - “Hot Dog, The Movie”. The song was “On the Top of the Hill”. Really rocks and accompanied great skiing scenes.
Had Shannon Tweed in it. She was so hot that they used her to clear snow-blocked roads.
Also featured Dave “American Werewolf in London” McNaughton in a comical role, esp. with Rudy.
Veggie Burgers for All!
Over my dead cold Ketchup-holding body they will!
Less home cooked food by moms...including farm raised animals and fats! Too much processed food. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.
Everybody calm down. Stop with the type “A” personality. Don’t stress out over minor things. Eat your dark chocolate and sip your green tea.
***fell from 64 years old to 60 years old***
And if this keeps up, Social Security will become solvent again!
Probably not, because there won’t be as many people past retirement age still working and paying in; and there aren’t enough kids coming along to pay in either once Trump builds a wall. I can’t tell where the truth ends and the sarcasm begins, even though I wrote that statement myself.
“What has changed? Government interference?”
Well, most women are employed full time now instead of being homemakers. That has exponentially increased our beer consumption.
