Why Donald Trump Is Poised To Win The Nomination And Lose The General Election, In One Poll By Philip Bump March 23

Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but a new poll from Quinnipiac University suggests that the most likely outcome of this presidential race is the following: Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump face off in the general election, and Hillary Clinton wins. Standard polling caveats apply, not the least of which is that the campaign hasn't started and that polls taken well in advance of an actual election are often not predictive. But reading this poll on this day with these numbers? That's the logical conclusion.

nonsense. If that were true, Hillary and her minions wouldn’t work so hard to ensure Trump is not the R nominee.

“Got it. Any poll that shows Trump crash landing must be reflexively viewed as BS”

No other recent poll shows any numbers close to this.

Seriously

Is this the type of negative like “cool to have a beer with” type nonsense?

What do they base it on?

well i disagree

it looks like Trump has a 80% chance of winning the nomination and if he does, then a 99% chance of beating Hillary

the D’s need to find a much more credible candidate, lest they lose all kinds of senate, representative, and local state seats too, imho

Assuming that the people doing the polling are for the other side, wouldn’t they have an interest in trying to make the candidate they least want to run against appear to be the worst against Clinton.

Sorry, I’m not buying it...

Reagan was 20 points behind Carter at this point in the 1980 election. Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth then too.

90-95% of the people polled and asked to describe Hillary in one word said LIAR.

Sounds like a pretty High Negative to me, granted Trump’s is Asshole, but I like Him anyway.

65% of the national electorate say they have a negative view of him.

Both Hilary and the Donald have strong negatives, but the negatives are of a different nature.

In the case of Hilary, the negatives are about how awful and dishonest a person she is.

In the case of the Donald, the negatives are what people say out loud to avoid being condemned by a small minority of vicious bigots.

Just let me know who is going to sign away their life guaranteeing that this poll will be the results in November. I will be on board immediately.

Being an asshole is not a bad thing

Bosses are described at assholes all the time but most people respect their boss

We are voting for a leader here, not best friend

Would you rather vote for a leader who is asshole or a liar?

If polls decided who would be president there would have been Kerry, Gore and to go way back maybe Dukakis or Mondale.
