>> There are massive numbers of Republicans pledging not to vote for him in the general election <<

>> A phenomenon we see on FR threads every election. "I will not vote for someone that is not pure enough for me". <<

I held my nose and voted for Romney and McCain, who are nowhere near as conservative as me. People are refusing to vote for Trump because he's a Democrat, plain and simple.

Undying love? It’s not about our undying love for Trump, but rather our country. He is the only one I see that is strong enough to set her back on a path where she rightfully belongs. None of the others can even come close. Especially after they keep exposing themselves as being weak sisters who want to kowtow to political correctness and special interest groups over Americans.

Translation of this annoyingly-long, terribly written screed: "I used to like him until it looked like he was going to WIN! OMG!"

I don't understand how so many smart people can back a guy who's too lazy to study anything beyond the basics of any policy issue.

That is EXACTLY, word-for-word, what they said about Reagan. EXACTLY.

He gets the Muslims are trying to kill us.
He gets that when you allow lawless thugs to flow into this country, it will no longer be the USA.
This will be the last free election because we will not have enough voters to counter Communists in the next one.
Do what you want, ignore at your own peril.

Why do these pundits keep trotting out the term “unelectable”? I do not understand how it relates to The Donald, who can pull in HUGE crowds of not only primary supporters, but a much greater portion of the crowd is composed of persons who have had NO INTEREST in who the President may be in years past, but now it has driven home the absolute necessity of paying attention and resisting what has been a decades-long train crash.

The broken border is but another facet of what is a much broader problem with a crumbling and disorganized economic model for this country, one that involves taxation, regulation, and keeping civil order domestically, and asserting the projection of power in diplomatic, military and economic interactions with the world at large.

People who don’t understand the Trump phenomenon don’t recognize our mortgaged Congress. Now, all three candidates, Cruz, Kasich, and Rubio are pushing Obamatrade (TPP). Common denominator = special interest money.

If Trump was unelectable, you wouldn’t find packed stadiums with throngs of his supporters.

He’s controversial to be sure but if anything, it has gotten him more votes.

I think John Hawkins misreads the mood of the country.

After 8 years of Obama, people want an outsider to shake up Washington.

The anger is real and with that also comes a lot of love for our country.

I voted for those two looosers also. Trump isn't a democrat. He is just the Washington outsider we need.

Trump has tremendous courage and he is showing it every day staring down the protesters and throwing them out. No other candidate has this kind of courage.

Courage is contagious.

Not a matter of "Undying Affection"..., merely a recognition that the "Republicrat/Democan" UNIPARTY of the past 2-3 decades HATES TRUMP! That is endorsement enough for MILLIONS TO VOTE FOR HIM!!!

So Trump is deeply flawed... no argument there. Now tell me again, which of these other candidates on either side is not even more deeply flawed?

Unfortunately today, Trump looks to be completely unelectable.

An assumption with absolutely no basis.

I’m sure the endless protests by Bernie supporters, Answer and MoveOn at Trump rallies will weaken him even further.

On the chance this is a serious article, which is questionable, I would tell the author, Mr. Hawkins, that it’s not always the most popular guy that gets the job done.

Maybe Mr. Trump never went to ‘Charm School’, but the challenges facing us today require a no BS, anti politically correct juggernaut.

I suggest Mr. Hawkins get out of his safe space for a while and see what’s going on in the real world.
