Trump wouldn't take either one and neither would I.
It wouldn't HAVE to be for the VP slot. It could be for anything from a plum ambassadorship position to a pardon for a wayward relative to a Secretary of State slot. Trump will do what he has to do to get where he's going. I doubt he REALLY loves ethanol that much.

I think Rule 40 of the Republican Convention rules is that nobody can be nominated who hasn’t won at least 8 states. When all the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared, my guess is that they’ll have exactly two choices: Trump or Cruz. If they try to change the rules after the fact, they’ll be committing suicide.

If he goes in with a majority of delegates, it would not be a brokered convention. It would be if he had the majority but not the 8 state threshold or the 1237 or whatever the magic number is. If he goes in 10 short and doesn't win outright on the first ballot they can pull any kind of dirty trick they want. Any other candidate it wouldn't matter, after the first ballot the other delegates coalesce around the guy with the most delegates.
We'll see.

I refuse to vote in an NR poll. I wouldn’t want to get their hopes up that they have more than 100 readers left at this point.
Spineless GOPe cheap labor goons. We should harness the power of William F. Buckley, Jr. spinning in his grave as a source of unlimited clean energy, and shut the liberals up forever.

There are no choices if we get to a brokered convention, false narrative.
GOP will try to act like there is to stir up excitement about yet another election but we’ve lost control at that point. But there will probably be enough self-righteous, principled Republicans to jump in and legitimize it.

I would go for people not on this list - Scott Walker and Bobby Jindal, both of them conservative fighters. That is, it might be better to get somebody who didn’t get too far into the destructive politics of this campaign.

this is an invalid poll and NR knows it

Behind,
If Trump goes in with a majority of the delegates, the convention will not be contested/brokered because he will win the nomination.
