Sarah Palin endorsement fails as Ted Cruz beats Donald Trump to win Alaska
Washington Times ^ | 03/02/2016

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A high-profile endorsement from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin couldn’t deliver this state for Donald Trump as Ted Cruz won the Alaska Republican presidential preference poll.

Cruz, a U.S. senator from Texas, edged the national GOP front-runner in Alaska for his third win of Super Tuesday. Trump was still the night’s big Republican winner with victories in seven states. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who finished third in Alaska, won one state.

The other two candidates on Tuesday’s ballot in Alaska — John Kasich and Ben Carson — did not garner enough support to win any delegates.

The Alaska GOP reported high voter turnout that exceeded 2012 levels as thousands of Alaskans decided which of the remaining GOP presidential candidates would get their support. Party spokeswoman Suzanne Downing said in an email that volunteers manning polling sites were somewhat overwhelmed by the “unbelievable” turnout.

Some sites saw long lines, including the convention center that served as the lone polling location in Juneau, where dozens of people, including state legislators, lobbyists and Alaska’s first lady, waited their turn to vote. First lady Donna Walker declined to say who she supported.

State Sen. John Coghill, a Republican from North Pole, wasn’t shy in declaring his support for Cruz, seeing Cruz as closest to his own philosophy. He said Cruz and Rubio — but Cruz especially — seem to be more supportive of states’ rights. Coghill is among the state legislators who have been concerned about federal overreach. He said he would support whomever the Republican nominee winds up being.

Cruz’s campaign and PACs spent $6.1 MILLION in Super Tuesday states, Rubio’s campaign and PAC’s spent $3.5 MILLION, Trump spent $1.1 MILLION.

Anti-Trump PAC’s spent about $1 MILLION mostly in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Who got the most bang for his buck?

“It was History when she hitched her wagon to the likes of John McCrazy, Kelly Ayotte and Nikki Haley.”

When she endorsed McCain for Congress, most of us here were shocked but it was explained away as “loyalty.” Then she overlooked Cruz, someone she had previously endorsed, to side with Trump, even though he had very publicly disparaged her endorsee McCain and said he was no war hero. She has been so inconsistent.

Perhaps she is really nothing more than an opportunist, ready to hitch her wagon to whichever star she thinks is on the way up.

Trump lost Alaska, but got more votes than Romney or McCain in 2012 and 2008 even with Cruz getting Democrats to switch over for the night and vote for Cruz because Cruz would be "easily defeatable" (as reported on CNN) in the general. Palin will have the last laugh when Trump wins the nominaation and the general.

LOL So I guess that makes it obvious you CAN’T back up what you said because it’s a lie.

What’s wrong with you people that you lie practically every time you open your mouths? It’s not normal.

I think that only pertains to Rubio.

He finished 3rd in how many states but he apparently had a great night. Trump got beat in three, lost two he wasn't supposed and was closer in VA and VT then expected but he too had a great night.

Cruz wins three states and is on Trump's coat tails for delegates and it was a disappointing night for him because he was supposed to win TX and OK.

It's bazzaro world.

The LOL is on you, peaches.

I said:

If it had been Trump 12, Cruz 11, we’d have already seen the all caps posts telling us Cruz was a “loser” and other associated nonsense.

I did not say it had happened.

Now, you are calling me a liar because I postulated a possible situation and outcome, using the word "IF" which means "In the event of" and not that it had actually happened.

Your calling for me to post a link to an event which is hypothetical is a laugh, because hypothetical events have not happened. They are hypothetical. How would anyone link that?

Just because you have troubles with English comprehension does not mean I made any false statement. So you can stop slandering me now.

What’s wrong with you people that you lie practically every time you open your mouths? It’s not normal.

Well, I am one person, not a group. It's pretty abnormal to refer to one person as a group, ya think? (as in "you people"). I didn't lie, any more than I would have saying, "If wishes were horses beggars would ride."

Note: I didn't say there's a homeless cavalry detachment running around...

...and I didn't even open my mouth. I can type without mouthing the letters.

The delusion you Trumpophiles suffer from is not that Trump will win the nomination,he very well may, it’s the limbic driven cultlike dedication you all have to an extremely flawed candidate.

So much anger, so little ration. . .bad combo and not so smart. . .I actually support Ted. ..my anger is stored up, not to be fired at the flawed. . as EVEN traderrob6 is one, YES you. .even you are "flawed". . .but rather, anger, should be vented on the EVIL as is what faces us in November. Our candidate, whoever he is, will be flawed. . .but LET'S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!

I’m happy Cruz took Alaska. :)

Or I assume it’s still the same. I haven’t read the news since coming home. I wish Sarah had endorsed him as she did when he ran for the senate.

I didn't misrepresent what anyone said. You jumped to a conclusion and attacked. All too common from your camp, imho, and it has replaced rational discussion.

Heh. So you’re confirming that you’re trolling, just as Jim Robinson said.
I say again: We *expect* what you do. So of course we ‘’jump to conclusions’’. Funny how that works.
Go away. You’re boring, tiresome, & small.

>> [Christie] better stay in D.C. The outcry from his sell out to his supporters and backers is overwhelming in his home state. They want his political head <<

Or he could just flee across the Hudson to Trump Tower and ask for official “refugee” status — sorta like Edward Snowden in Moscow, or Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

Yes, she abandoned her job as governor and is nothing more than a self-promoter. She is the Republican equivalent of Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. Keeping herself in the news is her source of income.

Since things are not working out for their candidate, be happy. This is receiving national attention from well known media people around the country. As with many such productions, much of the details is behind the scenes. However, I want to share with you their latest press release. Enjoy:

Super Tuesday: Trump and Grump Win, Voters Lose Again

SEATTLE / LOS ANGELES – As Democratic and Republican parties inch closer to naming presidential candidates, the voters once again face a “lessor of two evils dilemma,” said the creator of a new TV program designed to let the American public choose an independent, write-in candidate. Michael Wilson, CEO of LionHound Productions pointed to his new program as the solution.

“It’s called The Write-In, and it will put an end to the ‘lessor-of-two-evils’ dilemma created by the two parties every four years,” Wilson said. “We’re ready for prospective citizen candidates to sign up.”

The official website for the show is www.thewrite-in.com, which includes an official nomination page and application form. Each week on “The Write-In,” the viewers will narrow the field until two final candidates are left standing. A panel of policy experts, entertainers, and media representatives will challenge the television audience to select their candidate to be a write-in on the November 2016 presidential election ballot.

“Why waste the American public’s time with name calling, in-fighting and dirty tricks?” Wilson asked. “The Write-In will be serious, funny, entertaining and enlightening to an audience neglected by the current political process. We’re ready to begin. The Write-in is about to change the face of presidential politics.”

Hey, troll your own self.

You jumped on me and accused me of being a liar.

I didn't lie.

What I said was in plain enough English. I even broke it down and showed you why what I said was not a lie, and all you can do is call me a troll?

Is everyone not prostate at the altar of Trump a troll and a liar to you?

I can't help it if you don't understand English.

I have been here since 1999, and if Jim doesn't want me here all he has to do is say so. At least I will do him the courtesy of pinging him to a post where he is mentioned.

Based on my experiences with some of Trumps supporters on FR I would say...yes.
