Excerpts from “the first rough draft of history” as reported in The Washington Post on this date in the 20th century. It was 1932, deep into the Great Depression, and thousands of World War I veterans came to Washington to plead with Congress for payment of a bonus owed them for war service. For weeks, about 12,000 protesters kept a vigil at the Capitol, but the Senate failed to vote them the money. Rather than go back home, they settled into camps around the city. Eventually, President Herbert Hoover ordered the ...
Can’t find any of my posts for the first year and a half I was here.
The first post I can find is from August of 2001.
And it’s funny, but all of the first posts on that thread are labeled by the database as being from December 31, 1969. :-)

My first findable post seems to be this:
It was on a post about speculation as regards TWA800's crash over Long Island Sound.
Little did I know that 15 short years later liberals and Marxists would win EVERYTHING, ALWAYS.

Add me to home school as well. This got me to sign up after lurking forever. Have home schooled for three years with Switched on Schoolhouse it is great, bit expensive but well worth it. My older child needs more of a challenge this year so he is doing Flvs for sixth grade.

Students Swallow Pride for Tickets (More UNC-CH disgusting behavior)
January 30, 2002 8 of 20 MikeD to jern
Criminy, why do they have to do this at my alma mater? They'll do disgusting things like this for tickets, but they won't stay for the whole game...
At least this headline wasn't for a B-GLAAD event...

As are so many others, this Texan is ashamed to share her home state with the Hippie Chicks. They certainly have seen plenty of cross-over success, but, duh, they seem to have forgotten the makeup of their loyal fanbase...you know, the country music lovers who are generally conservaive (and very supportive of our President). The Dixie Cups may not remember this, but we Texans sent a very popular incumbent governor (Miz Richards, if you’re nasty) packing in order to make room for Dubya. Four years later, we handed him a ‘landslide’ reelection victory. Figure it out, ladies.

I could only trace my posts back to 2009, but I’ve been here since 2003. So I Googled my FR name and my join date and found a post from that day. I’m not sure it was my very first post (I could have sworn my first one was about Michael Moore), but at least it’s from the right day. If you think you may have posted something on your sign-up date, you could try Googling it, if you’re curious.
Congrats on your 18 years...old man! :)
