Ancient trysts between Neanderthals and modern humans may have influenced modern risks for depression, heart attacks, nicotine addiction, obesity and other health problems, researchers said.
Some of the scientists' discoveries confirm previous ideas. For example, earlier research suggested that Neanderthal DNA influenced skin cells known as keratinocytes that help protect the skin from environmental damage such as ultraviolet radiation and germs.
The new findings suggest that Neanderthal genetic variants increase the risk of developing sun-triggered skin lesions known as keratoses, which are caused by abnormal keratinocytes.

Neanderthal-human trysts may be linked to modern depression, heart disease
Or not.
KEYWORDS: neandertal; neandertals; neanderthal; neanderthalsThe Neandertal Enigma"Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

That explains Barack's depression. I'd be depressed by a Neanderthal tryst too. What happened to the heart disease though?
This is a lie. Many dinosaurs suffered from depression.
By definition, if the Neanderthals were able to breed with ‘humans’ and produce fertile young, then they were human.
Wildbill VERY depressed. Miss trysts with Ayla for boom boom VERY much.

[snip] One example is a Neanderthal variant that increases blood coagulation. It could have helped our ancestors cope with new pathogens encountered in new environments by sealing wounds more quickly and preventing pathogens from entering the body. In modern environments this variant has become detrimental, because hypercoagulation increases risk for stroke, pulmonary embolism and pregnancy complications. [/snip]

I remember that poster who always filled neanderthal threads with scary nocturnal black skinned and furred big eyed monster neanderthal pics. He got the idea from some Australian film maker. I don’t see his posts around any more.
