LAS VEGAS -- SilencerCo turned heads at this year's SHOT Show in Las Vegas with its latest prototype of the Maxim 9, a futuristic-looking 9mm pistol that sort of resembles the gun from the "RoboCop" movies.
"This is the world's first integrally suppressed 9mm handgun that is hearing safe with all types of 9mm ammunition," Jason Schauble, a marketing official for the company, said on Monday at range day the Boulder Rifle & Pistol Club outside Vegas. "It's definitely the coolest thing you'll see this week. I guarantee it."
Designers indeed looked to futuristic science-fiction movies for ideas, including "RoboCop" and "Judge Dredd," but ultimately settled on a unique design with a thick, rectangular front end and the operating mechanism in the rear of the weapon, Shauble said.
"I've got a 3.5-inch fixed barrel, so it's still accurate -- I can still get the velocity I need," he said. "But I've got as much room up front to suppress the actual noise."
When asked what makes the design unique, Schauble said, "People have done intergrally-supressed pistols before -- the Chinese, the Russians -- but they did it with a .32-caliber cartridge, which is not going to kill anything, or it's a you-can-only-use-this-bullet, right? -- I can only use a subsonic, light round, at 20 feet in close range or something like that. So we made it so I can use 124-grain-plus-p-plus jacketed hollow point, which is the loudest 9mm pistol cartridge in this configuration."
The weapon uses Glock magazines and can accommodate any type of after-market sights, he said. While a previous prototype was unveiled at a product launch event in September, this second version is "much closer to what our final iteration will look like," he said.

Years ago I saw a guy that tried to kill himself with a .32. Drank a bottle of whiskey and shot himself right between the eyes. When the whiskey wore off he called an ambulance. Bullet was lodged way back in his sinuses. We basically but a bandaide on him and sent him to psych for observation.
Under the ATF's final rule, the ATF is still going to continue to require proof that a valid NFA gun trust exists, i.e., a complete copy of the NFA gun trust. However, the ATF is also going to require proof that each "responsible person" on the NFA gun trust is entitled to possess firearms. Specifically, the ATF's final rule will also require each and every "responsible person" of the NFA gun trust to submit fingerprints and photographs. During the approval process, the ATF will conduct backgrounds checks on each and every "responsible person" of the NFA gun trust.

Good question....
LOL
That’s incredible! I’ll have to remember to double-tap...
That’s not even remotely authorized by the statute.
If they are “A” level members...able to transfer (Buy), or just pick up a piece of gear and a “papers” packet for a trip to the range.
Until then trust ho!

Looks kind of unbalanced, like I’d grow wrists and forearms like Popeye holding that thing.
Maybe the pistol needs a pistol grip? If nothing else it will scare the bejeebers out of most libtards. Cuomo is probably adding a 100 pages to the SAFE Act just to accommodate this one.
A poster after my own heart. That’s my favorite pistol round. It’s the male version of the .40!
10mm is my EDC choice because I feel like my .460 Rowland may be a little too much gun. 10mm is just right.
That there is one baaaad hangover, Doc.
When did the law change on CLEO sign-off? Or, are you referring to NFA Trusts?
Among the rule changes is that for individual NFA transactions there is no longer a requirement for your CLEO to sign off. You must merely notify the CLEO by providing him with a full copy of your completed form.
Here is the entire rule: https://www.atf.gov/file/100896/download
The wait times are shortening significantly. Four months for my recent purchases. SilencerCo is cool!!!
Signoff if you have a trust. Which is totally stupid.
Not if you had been fingerprinted once in the last two years for another purchase.
No signoff if you have a trust. Trusts have always been “inform CLEO” only. What has changed for trusts is each member of the trust must submit fingerprint cards and passport photos, just as an individual application has always had to do.
The “inform CLEO only” for individuals combined with the fingerprinting requirement for Trust members makes NFA Trusts less attractive.
Not obsolete, but much less attractive from an individual’s standpoint.
Thanks, but I have never had to submit fingerprints/photos for any new trust purchase.
