Trump Made No Donations To 9/11 Charities [Opinion]

Billionaire was a zero in aftermath of terror attack

In the aftermath of the 2001 terror attack on the World Trade Center, Donald Trump, a billionaire son of New York City, did not make a single charitable donation to any of the not-for-profit groups that provided aid to survivors, rescue workers, or the families of cops and firemen who died trying to save others, Internal Revenue Service records show.

While business moguls raced to write seven-figure checks and schoolchildren emptied their piggy banks, Trump’s charitable foundation--the vehicle through which the Republican presidential candidate’s philanthropy trickles--apparently did not feel the need or responsibility to offer such financial help.

Trump, who frequently reminds the public that he is worth TEN BILLION DOLLARS, is president of the Donald J. Trump Charitable Foundation, which the developer founded nearly 30 years ago. . . .

That’s what I like about the site right now, the adult attitudes. People used to be for the most part witty with a sarcastic cut occasionally, but so many of the arguments and I don’t mean reasoned discourse, from both sides is just plain spiteful. I said earlier I haven’t committed to Trump or Cruz yet and while I like that Trump is straightforward take no prisoners, I just don’t know if I want Don Rickles for president every day for four years.

There are many people who donate privately, never or rarely taking a deduction. They don't want to itemize and view their donations as acts of altruism...

This is true. However, Trump has proven to be anything but altruistic. Furthermore, he has boasted openly about taking every deduction he possibly could to avoid paying taxes.

Donations to 9/11 First Responder charities? Why should Trump do that. Isn’t it enough that Trump wraps himself in the flag of 9/11 patriotism to absorb the heroism of the first responders.

HAIL TO THE HEROIC AND NOBLE AND MAGNIFICENT DONALD TRUMP!!

I did read the links. None of them provided any proof that he gave to 9/11. Oh sure, there are the claims by his campaign. But none of those claims are substantiated.

So again I ask, where is the evidence?

And Cruz insulted those who served and died on that day. What’s worse?

Oh stop lying! Cruz did no such thing.

With the families getting millions from the government, just how much more was Trump to help them?

Good grief.

Ahh...so the TRUMP DISCIPLES RESENT THE FIRST RESPONDERS’ having their large medical bills covered by the government. How interesting. PRAISE BE TO THE DISCIPLES OF DONALD TRUMP, LONG MAY THEY RULE.

Actually, none pf this would be happening if your candidate hadn’t criticized NY values, whatever he meant. That is what started this whole mess.

His tax return is his business. He filed his financials last summer.

But you are fee to contact him and ask him to release his tax returns.

If Trump has the nominee set by the time the primary elections in his state come about, he may screw Hillary by casting for Sanders in the rat primary.

Thank you. That’s exactly what I meant. I don’t know how it could be taken any other way.

How do you know that Trump doesn’t subscribe to Matthew 6:3-4
3”But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
********************************************************************************
Or perhaps Trump subscribes to the proposition that WHAT YOU CAN’T GET WITH YOUR RIGHT-HAND, GET WITH YOUR LEFT-HAND IMPROPERLY USING EMINENT DOMAIN. That would be more the speed of the wonderful and faithful Christian Trump.

He must have misplaced them! I'm sure they are all accounted for in that "special place" where he keeps all of the Bibles he's collected over the years. Or it could be they just went to Planned Parenthood and his LIEberal cronies.

Oh come now. You know good and well what Donald Trump meant when he defined New York values in his Meet the Press interview.

You know Trump is such a cold hearted cheapskate he probably didn’t even send any of his men down to the World Trade Center to clean up the mess. That would have cost him $$$$. OH WAIT....he sent HUNDREDS of his guys.

The government paid out quite a bit to the families of 09/11 victims.

I have always carried a life insurance policy to protect my love ones.

Do you see any place in this post that says only first responders were compensated?

Did I ever say I didn’t think first responders shouldn’t be compensated?

As usual, you have gone off the deep end to cover for your own asinine behavior.

Don't worry, I'm not a Trump basher or a Cruz basher for that matter. All these repetitive threads need to be stopped.

"No Dem will vote for him...."

Boy, that's certainly a disqualifier! Last time I checked, nobody I know selects their candidate based on what the JACKASS party will support.

Glad someone finally admitted where his past shows his loyalties really are.

It appears you can read, so, do your own cotton picking research. You remind me of the kids on a sports forum I belong to. They want to be fed every mouthful. You are an adult so get busy and quitcha complaining. It gets old. All you do is type in Trump + 9/11 donations, or whatever you want to know. It is very easy. I do it all the time. Even I, at 71, know how to do that.

Easy big guy. I played that game in 2006 when I registered as a Democrat to vote for Joe Lieberman in the CT primary against someone who was much worse (Ned Lamont). I get the Operation Chaos stuff but I’d write in Jim Webb instead of Sanders. I don’t want to cast a vote for a commie anytime, anyplace.
