Yes, Donald Trump will implode. Here's why. (I don't agree at all, but this from another Freeper)

The notion that a "winner," who understands long-term negotiations and acquisitions, will be fazed by a temporary setback (and believe me, Iowa is zip. It has 28 delegates, of which even "losing" Trump would get about 10 or more) is just fantasy.

Why do you think Trump has been in ALL the states? Why not just IA if IA is so damned important? It's because he is running not only a national campaign, but already a national GENERAL ELECTION campaign. He largely is talking about Hillary. He barely mentions the other GOP guys now, including Cruz.

It's the "Art of the Deal." You don't give up when the other guy appears to have an early, relatively meaningless win. Your goal is the final deal, not a minor negotiating point along the way.

While I'm at it, let me address these polls that say that "Yes, Trump beats Hillary in a general, but Cruz/Rubio beat her worse." The thing about this kind of psychology is the "grass is greener" mindset. It's the same mindset that has BERNIE SANDERS CRUSHING ALL REPUBLICANS.

Really? Of course not. It's because Bernie Sanders has no chance to beat Republicans that he's a safe "Oh, yeah, I'd REALLY like him!" I think this is the case with these polls on Cruz/Rubio (just a couple of months ago, remember, CARSON was utterly crushing Hillary---but we all knew that was phony).

The point is, the closer you get to reality, i.e., someone who really will be in the general, the tighter the victory margins get---on either side. So, no. Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio will not and cannot beat Hillary "more" than Trump can. This is "unicorn voting."

from the article: “At the root of this kind of narcissism is always the same thing: a vast, yawning chasm of need, a hunger for approval and validation that is never sated.”

I can’t disagree with this but I would point out that this is at the core of every politician. All in all this article reminds me of the multiple psychological analysis published about Bill Clinton. You can find more penetrating thought in most college dorms after midnight and a few beers.

I’m seeing this duel more in a baseball sense.

Trump is the swaggering clean-up hitter closing in on winning the batting title. Cruz is the pitcher with touch, finesses and smarts.

1st inning, Trump bombs one of Cruz’s sliders out of the stadium.

4rd inning, Cruz strikes out Trump with a nifty set-up combination ending with a wicked curve that turns Trump into a pretzel-at-the-plate.

Here comes the 7th inning...Iowa and New Hampshire.

Establishment candidates have failed to deliver every time. The one functional model we have for a successful leader was Ronald Reagan.

Trump and CruZ are the only ones who have been willing to fight hard on any point.

The GOPe is dead. Cause: suicide by ignorance.

You leave off the most important thing. Competence - most people recognize that every single agency of our government is incompetent because it is run by political hacks and civil servants chosen for their compliance and complacency. Bush / Cheney were just as bad as Obama in this regard - I hope I am not breaking startling news to creepers here.

Just having competent people running our agencies would make such a difference - the taxpayers actually getting something that they paid for rather than regulation and armies of bureaucrats spending all day at video conferences and emaiils and other worthless activities.

The talk of this implosion by Donald Trump is pretty easy to understand. The media and so-called political strategists (think Karl Rove) are used to creating the agenda, pushing that agenda, and controlling the talking points/discussions. So the issues they are having and what is creating their disbelief is:

1) Trump isn’t beholden to anyone so he speaks his mind and they can’t understand how this has been successful so far. After all, the norm is secret handshakes and back room deals to maintain the status quo and Trump disrupts that.

2) these so-called elites are so out of touch with reality and they can’t recognize or believe that what Trump says is completely in line with what the average American wants or believes (secure borders, countries like China kept in check, an America first mentality, etc).

3) trump is making bold, but most important, clear statements. He isn’t using the typical double-speak so often done by politicians.

Just my $0.02

Sorry but I'm not going to click on some link just to confirm it's someone's opinion. I deal in facts.

LOL.
Good for you!

I read the entire opinion piece for you.

Sure, the writer interspersed his musings with a few facts, but also with some specious fiction; i.e. silly gossip related to the size of Mr. Trump's hands, which I personally know is incorrect as described.

As for his speculation rock solid determination regarding that Donald Trump is burdened by an over-sized ego and ultra thin skin that will lead to his demise, I have to really LOL.

Mr. Trump exudes confidence otherwise known as strength, power, energy, leadership!

His premise that should Mr. Trump suffer a defeat, (like in Iowa) that the said defeat will put him in a tail spin is silly conjecture. Mr. Trump has come back from failed business enterprises with roaring successes.

It's more likely than not, that come the night of November 4, 2016, Mr. Trump will be President Trump Elect.

There seem to be signs that the Hill is losing momentum while Bernie is picking up ... if that holds and Clinton loses to Bernie and he beats Trump on the strength of the Yoot and LIV vote (as one poll {with 100% accuracy for the past 100 years} predicts), the country will not only be irrevocably damaged, but become a totalitarian dictatorship with one party rule - there will be no second chance to elect any conservative or even a GOP establishmenter.

So if Trump loses to Cruz in the primaries, for example, will some sit home again and allow Clinton or Bernie to become President as they allowed Obama twice?

Well said, onyx.

Trump is in it to win it.

You have met the man (lucky you) and you know he is confident in himself and his abilities.

He is what we need as a nation right now.

I shudder to think what a disaster this primary season would have been if he was not in it.

I'm a Cruz supporter, will vote for him in the TX Primary.

...but I also like Trump's bombastic, non-pc confident style while attacking the MSM, Obama, Hill & Bill.

Trump has the sound of a true American Patriot, so refreshing after 7 years of Anti-America bashing from Barack.

So, I've been thinking what would be better, a Cruz/Trump or Trump/Cruz ticket,

While neither is held to choose the other as a running a mate;

Trump would make a terrible VP, leader of the Senate.

Cruz on the other hand, would make a great VP, leader of the Senate.

How sweet would it be for Cruz to be Mitch McConnell's boss.

Or they are Gopee plants trying to make the top two candidates look bad. One by attacking. The other by making desperate attacks.
Now why would they do that? Bring both down so an establishment candidate can move up. Check out who many supported before Cruz

Cruz is a lawyer and Trump is a businessman. They have different points of view about the same issues and may have different ways of getting to the same goal.

If Trump were president, he would MAKE A DEAL. What concessions would he make and how aggressive would he be? He is also a salesman.

If Cruz were president, he would keep his investors in mind (they must agree with him to invest?) and the constitution, but he is fearless. He is a genius debater.

I think we should have a vote thread. :)

Well stated. Thank you. We need them both and I can’t understand the hate for Cruz. Cruz may/could/will be the VP, so what’s to hate with that team? Do we want Trump to choose one of the others? Heck No.

LOL! Garbage analytics.

There is no downside to Trump’s message for Trump. If voters reject him, then they obviously do not like winning. Trump, the individual, goes on winning. We the people are left picking through the garbage of the politico/socialist elitist for scraps to justify our defense/existence in their marxist matrix.
