A custom rod 39 Ford coupe. Not much better than that.

I’d take that turd. The Mustang II is becoming better received as a classic Mustang.

I remember building models of the Boothill Express and Red Baron hot rods back in the late ‘60’s when I was a kid.

At least with this one you won't have to worry making those inconvenient and time consuming rest stops.

Is that the Orbitron in the background of #4? There’s quite a story about the recovery of that car. I think it can be found on Iowahawk.

Good catch! I actually don't remember it though. But looked it up and found that it was a Ed 'Big Daddy' Roth creation.

Very enjoyable to look at.
I remember when many of these were on the road. A friend’s dad had a 1940 ford pickup he drove to work everyday. Another guy had a 49 Merc.

That Mustang II may never be a ‘65 Shelby GT-350, but there is some collector interest in it. Unlike the future of, say, the Chevy Volt.

I’m working on my 57 Bel Air this morning (fuel pump, brrrr it’s cold). I have a loooong way to go to get to show quality like in the pics. Just taking out the battery tray to get to the pump can be a project on these old cars (rusted bolts), but at least I can repair everything myself for cheap compared to the new cars.

Just taking out the battery tray to get to the pump can be a project on these old cars (rusted bolts)Yet when you watch those classic and muscle car restoration and customizing shows, they seem to do everything in no time! Of course they have the shop, the tools, the know-how, the extra manpower, the film editing, etc. But anyone who's ever actually worked on a car knows what an often difficult pain in the butt it is. In any case, the shows are fantastic. They're one of the rare few goods things going on on television these days, IMO.
All the best on your '57 Chevy project! I hope 2016 is a great one for you and your family.
