ISIS Surrenders in face of Climate Change Conference

Raqqa, Syria

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.

"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."

An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.

Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."

According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.

"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."

So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."

W00t!

Yes, my son is pretty doggone funny at times. He was an absolute joy to bring into the world, and many times, his humor brought me out of a deep funk. Even when he was just a little guy, still learning to talk, he was funny.

The bathroom has clean towels and a clean bathmat but the sheets are still sitting on the bed, folded, awaiting my attention. I had to have another breathing treatment, so I figured I’d just put the sheets on the bed while I was stuck at the machine.

During the treatment, I got three games of Mah Jhong played.

My eyelids are getting heavy, but that’s the only indication I have of being up for over six hours. I hate the insomnia, but it’s part of the relapse, so I just have to deal with it. *sigh*

Maybe you can sleep now.

Tom makes me laugh when I need it. That’s why we still let him live here.

I’m around.

I don’t think there’s much danger of anything other than it not succeeding.

Unless you really need the accessibility options.

I’m going to go outside and soak up some heat, but I’ll be back soon!

Thanks!

Nope, it’s too late for me to sleep. If I try it now, I run the risk of being awake at 0200 again.

So I’ll just keep on keeping on.

Well, I’m going to go lie down and see if a cat shows up.

Is THAT what a catnap means.

Around here it does. However, I didn’t get a cat: Shannon was on the floor ignoring me, and then a young man with an interest in Sally phoned regarding their going to the movies this week. It’s set up for Wednesday afternoon; his mother is driving.

I wish him luck. Sally puts the DQ in Drama Queen.

Sorry about your catnap.

I went out to sit with the peeps for a bit, and after an hour, I decided I’d had enough. So here I am. The bed has sheets on it, now, but the pillows are still awaiting their cases.

But I had to take another pain pill for that since I have been on my feet so long today.

This morning, I made an appointment at Discount Tire to have the tires rotated, but I can’t do anything about the servicing, yet, much as I would like for that to happen before I have to go into Vegas again.

For a while, it was just Charlie and me at the ramada, and then two more people showed up, including Chuck. And I promptly informed him of my email to Haband this morning, requesting a refund of S&H, especially since they advertise any order over $50 ships free. (She says, gritting her teeth.)

Sounds like your day is going about as well as mine (relative to our starting points). At least we don’t have to leave for the swim meet until about 4:00. Or 3:45, just for luck.

The young man infatuated with Sally is called Samuel Adams, like the Revolutionary War figure and the beer. He’s tall.

I got an email back from Haband, saying they will refund the money “within a few business days,” so I sent Chuck a text message and told him. He has yet to offer me anything for all the BS I’ve had to put up with from this company. I suspect when it comes time to order his shoes, he won’t want to write a check to the company, either. *sigh*

My feet are swollen, so I will have another breathing treatment, soon. Maybe I’ll finish making the bed, first.

Samuel Adams, eh? I wonder if his infatuation is such that he can’t see the DQ for what she is? Poor fluffy. Perhaps he will. I wish them both luck.

Off to the bedroom and then back in here to crochet a bit and prop my feet up.

Who knows, maybe she’ll be nice to him. He lives quite a distance away, up toward the University, and doesn’t drive, so getting together will be quite a bit of work.

It's warmish. (89°)

And Glowing Sky Orb shiny.

And a Hint of Breezey. (9 - 10 mph per notalwaysAccuWeather)

And Tipton T. Longcat is nasally rummaging through my trash bag to see what he can fang and carry off. Having completed his investigation and finding nothing worthy of his attention he has wandered off a few catpaces and laid down. He is not too interested in lounging in the sunbeam spot (wonder if all black fur except for the white splotch on his neck and a white wisp on the tip of his tail is a contributing factor) at the moment, rather is lying on the floor in the path of the breeze coming in through the south window and and exiting through the north window.

While waiting for me to even hint that I am standing up so he can claim my chair which, should he succeed in wresting control of it from me will be in the path of that breeze also...

How in the world did Sally and her date even meet up?

Another breathing treatment under my belt, and the bed is all done. I even turned on the blannie so it will be toasty when I crawl in. Yes, I know: “In this heat???” I’m finally feeling warm when I go outside, yes, in this heat!

I tried another game of Mah Jhong, but got stuck on the same two tiles, twice and have started over, but the game will wait.

So, I’m going to read a little something, and then I will crochet for a bit. But I haven’t left yet!

He was Den Chief at the table next to hers at day camp.

And yes, I did -00. Thanks for noticing.

Off to the swim meet in a few minutes: long drive.

Well, I’m going to sit and crochet for another little bit while my “sun tea” steeps, and then I’m going to bed.

I hope you all have a good night!
