Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."
It’s always nice to do something new! One of my friends was telling me recently about a congregation near his house which sends scouts out to other churches regularly, to see what they’re doing that might be a good idea for the original church.
We’re doing music tomorrow, and I have to make an announcement reminding everyone to sign up for Sunday School.
However, if I remember correctly, you are not in suitable Sunday morning drive range.. ;-)
Well, I’ve laid my clothes out, so in case I feel the urge to go, I won’t have to do the “nervous rat” trick of trying to find clothes, jewelry, etc., to make a suitable church-going outfit. Modesty, and all that.

None of you are in suitable Sunday driving range for me, but I’d still put on my best bib and tucker for the after-church-feed if you chose to show up... ;o]
And yes, I’m still up. I was pleasantly surprised by a visitor about two hours ago, and I had just finished with the floors.
At least the place still smelled clean! But now I’m out of Wet-Jet pads and fluid, so there was good news and bad.
And now, I’m going to take my final dose of pills, eat some yogurt, and head for bed.
PS: My visitor brought me a belated birthday present: A lavender wrist watch with a silicone band, large numbers and a second hand with a little tiny frog on it! :o]) I LIKE it!

Glad you had a nice visit. I’m about to get my pajamas on, and I hope to be in bed within an hour. Busy day!

I have run the vacuum. I didn’t want too, because it’s very damp and annoying today, but now I feel more positively.
I just had my shower, and realized once again that my hair is falling out in clumps. And my ulcers are acting up again. So tomorrow, I’ll get a couple of bananas and start the ulcer cocktails again. *sigh*
If I have enough money by the end of the week, I will get my hair cut again and start using the sage and coconut oil rub on it again. It’s very hard to work with when the hair is long. And I thought my arms would break off before I got it all on curlers, though this is more of a desperation move than an actual style statement! ;oP
I was looking at the dress pattern I got for $6, S&H free, and just noticed the original price on the back of it: $18.95! EEEEK! And I remember the days when I thought $2.50 was robbery!
Things with high sticker prices are often deep-discounted.
Sorry about your hair! Jamie is going to cut mine, Elen’s, and Kathleen’s this week. Kathleen can’t go to day camp with her hair in her eyes.
I figured someone just bought a lot of patterns that were outdated, and sold then for about twice what they paid for them. Which is fine with me! As long as I can get it for not a lot of money!
Too bad Jamie can’t cut my hair. I’m sure she would make me look like a movie stah! ;o]
Now I have to go in and attack it with the hair dryer or it will never be dry in time for church.

We don’t have to leave until noon. Hopefully all the young boys can find a clean shirt by then!
I think it’s been about 10 years since I put my hair on rollers, and that’s probably because it had reached an obnoxious length, which it has done now.
I just can’t roll it any more because of the arthritis in my shoulders. I usually blow dry it for about a minute but it’s so fine, it just flies away and has no body. And when it’s wet, it mats together so it takes forever for it to dry. Of course, if it continues to fall out in clumps, I won’t have to worry about it for too much longer... :o|
Off to paint my face...
Welp. That was interesting. It seems the Ward I go to got chased up the street to another chapel so THAT Ward could have its Stake Conference. And we would have a two-hour block. I don’t handle those very well, so here I am — back home again.
So I’ll just go outside...
