ISIS Surrenders in face of Climate Change Conference

Raqqa, Syria

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.

"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."

An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.

Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."

According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.

"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."

So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."

One should sleep in on one’s birthday...

One of our furbeasts yakked in my slipper this morn..

Because they couldn’t make it to the sofa, no doubt.

(’Twas an interesting diversion prior to getting ready for Church.. ;-)

Shannon threw up on the carpet. I didn’t notice until Kathleen came downstairs and told me, “Someone threw up over there.”

What’s a peaceful morning without a catspew?

You know, if they'd yak under the bed by the time it would be discovered it would be desicated and easier to remove. Not to mention out of the way of a bare foot..

It is a bit chillier today (53°) with rain looking (via the radarthing) to be about a halfhour out..

And on another note, I see that spellcheque insists that desicate has two "c's". I don't remember ever using two of those so I looked it up. According to the dictionary Websters, both spellings are acceptable. Now I'm wondering why I never noticed that before.

Of course, spellcheque doesn't like the way I spell her name either... ;-)

We found mummified catspew when we moved the bed once.

Well, thank you, Nully! You are so generous! Of course, I still missed that 1:20 that I slept, but I’m good. The Birthday Shield protected me from anything bad that could happen the rest of the day, so I’m good!

<3

PS: I was trying to keep it quiet, but I see its useless. It is still happening.

I just got back from the annual birthdays/Mother’s Day brunch with my daughter, so it’s good! And three callers wished me happy birthday, and that pretty much takes care of my fan club! ;o]

Well. That's good and bad. At least it was desiccated.

Thanks for the wishes!

It was fun for a change. She’s a lot more relaxed since her divorce, and that’s good.

Another day in the 90’s, and I keep thinking it’s too early for that, but there it is!

I think it’s too early for 90s. We have 70s forecast all week. It’s not going to be pleasant for swim practice.

The waiter at Mimi’s gave me to HUGH muffins as we were leaving. I thought that was a really sweet gesture. I don’t know how much my daughter tipped him, but I don’t think it was enough!

We got a piece of key lime “slab pie,” and I had no clue what that was. It was about two inches wide, five inches long and about two inches high. And then they added whipped cream! We shared it. Neither of us could eat it all.

Anyway, it was a good day. And now I’m all achy and short tempered and I want to go to bed. I’m glad I don’t share the place with anyone, because I would sure make him/her miserable, right about now. ;o]

Didn’t Barnum & Bailey circus have a transgender bathroom next to the egress exhibit?

These are utilitarian transgender bathrooms. Designed for single occupancy.

As it should be in such cases.

If it is found to be occupied by more than its design limit it would be a safe assumption that more than normal potty activity was afoot...

Geez...you can sure tell I wasn’t focused on what I was supposed to be doing when I wrote that last post. I proofread it, but I didn’t find all the mistrakes. My bad.

I have the beginning of a migraine and I’m thinking it may be the same one that has been nagging at me for the last two weeks.

I didn’t get the letter to my grandson written and I feel bad about that, but maybe I can write it this morning.

My daughter got the cable she needed to finish hooking up my home theater, but when she took it out to hook it up, it was the wrong one. It should have been HDMI to USB, but it was HDMI to HDMI.

Thomas, when I go someplace to eat, I don’t normally check on the bathroom situation, unless the food is particularly vile.

NoC, I could add something to your comment about the Potty Line, but this is a family thread. I’ll do it on FB. ;o]

My goodness! So much floofy squee!

I want to feel those with my little feetys.

Laundry day. Yuck. I hope I don’t have to wait this time. That was terrible, last week. At least I don’t need the dryers. :o]

After I do laundry, I’ll go to Wally’s, finally.

It’s 69 degrees out, and the high will only be 85. I think summer is kinda here. And in six weeks, the monsoons will start. *sigh*

Just when you may have deluded yourself into thinking, “okay, I’m ready for this”, Monday comes along to prove how wrong you are.

Stay humble, mortals.

Actually, I’ve never hated Mondays, though an ex-roomie I had hated them with a passion. She griped all through her shower, getting dressed, coffee and out the door, and no doubt, on her way to work.

I only dread them because I have to wash clothes and pay through the nose for the privilege.

And with that, I’m off to wash clothes...
