ISIS Surrenders in face of Climate Change Conference

Raqqa, Syria

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.

"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."

An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.

Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."

According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.

"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."

So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."

I have been unable to fast since I was a kid because of the hypoglycemia, (the first time I did it, I fainted) and nowadays, the fact that I have to take pills three times a day. I need to eat a little something with them, or they tear my stomach up.

However, I would very much like to fast. It goes so well with prayer.

Doing something spiritual today might be a good idea, though. I need to think about that. I may implement it. Hmmm...

My weather-feed says it’s 64 outside, and my thermostat says it’s 74 inside. This house is well insulated.

DP is shaving the little boys’ heads. When Frank is finished, I’ll have to go wash him.

Frank, for some reason, reminds my of the little guy in the “Peanuts” comics that was always surrounded by clouds of dust and debris. And I don’t understand that. Maybe because you’re always talking about cleaning him up! (Perhaps he is just a dirt magnet.) ;o]

Frank is a particularly dirty young boy, even by the standards of his brothers.

But he’s a ray of sunshine. While I was giving him a shower after his haircut, he said, “For some reason, a lot of things make me happy.” I told him, “That’s because you have a really good life, Frank.” “Oh, that’s true, I do!”

Yes, I believe Frank is profoundly happy, and I know he gives you a certain kind of joy that can come from no other child you have. But I believe they all shine in that they are, as individuals, some of the most awesome short (and tall) people I’ve ever met!

You have been truly blessed with all of your children.

Yes, indeed. I was just saying to myself, while having a very interesting chat about the music industry with Bill, “Why am I washing these dishes that I’ve told Bill several times to wash?”

“Because I can’t help myself,” I said to me, “but at least he’s a good conversationalist.”

In other news, Shannon killed a mouse. DP found a corpse while cleaning up from the haircuts.

And now I’m going to build a birdhouse with Frank. It’s a requirement for his Tiger Cub badge.

Bill can’t help it if he’s the blond in the family. I think every family has one. Is he still planning to go to Europe for Amazon?

There was a day when I had a mouse in my apartment, but that was before I moved here, and he since went on to a better home. He lived in my box spring, and I had no clue...I went to sell the bed and the box spring was full of holes. He had quite a comfy nest.

Building a birdhouse sounds fun.

I will soon (30 minutes) head for the Welfare office for the SNAP application. What a waste of time.

“....go to Europe ...”

Every time I read that group of words on FR I’m just so thankful to the ancestors for digging the Channel.
Europe.....*Shudder*.
The Pilgrim Fathers found it so bad they fled across the Atlantic, that speaks volumes.

Yes, Moosie, yes it does speak volumes!

I’m proud of my European heritage, but also proud of my Native American heritage, and most of all, happy to be born here.

(But I wish I had you for a neighbor!) ;o]

They don’t make AirCon powerful enough....
Anyone who has a Heritage that is away from the Main stream should be proud of it. When you have a mix it is possible to pick the most useful one for the situation at hand....it makes it easier to poke fun at the PC crowd.

They where talking about diversity and inclusion at work a few days ago...
At the End of the BS I stand up and point around the room: English ,Irish, Scots , Taffy, and a token Poof. That looks pretty diverse to me.
*Silence*
It wasn’t what they where driving at....apparently they have quotas. “Mao Say!”

Strange how those who consider themselves ,incorrectly, not to be of mixed Heritage have a fascination with those who are.
Usually totally soaked in PC ideology, and as daft as a brush.

Bill the Son does not presently have any applications in for jobs in Europe. My mother and her friends are supposed to go on a Northern Europe river cruise next month, but it may not go after the recent jihadism in Belgium. She will let me know.

The problem is not so much getting blown up personally as it is the continent-wide disruption of travel.

She gets to sleep on the best chair.

Frank is painting his bird house. James is doing algebra. Pat is doing trigonometry.

I was thinking this morning of how difficult travel is becoming.

I was also thinking about having a glass of Riesling, but I have none in the house, and not enough money to buy a bottle, so it will have to wait, I guess.

It’s supposed to be up to 76 today, but I won’t be out in it. My right leg is bothering me again, darn it. Still, it’s a beautiful day, and it would be nice to sit on my patio with some wine, cheese and fruit and enjoy the sounds of life...while still being removed from the sources!

I’m thankful that the relatives of my late neighbor donated her patio furniture to me. It came in handy last weekend for the company I had.

Well dagnabit! I was going to back a couple of chicken drumsticks and opened the canister of bread crumbs only to be met with the stale smell that is unmistakably impossible to eat.

And no money for more. Drat! Shucky darn! Cusswords!

And the drumsticks are thawed out, now, so I don’t know how to fix them...I hate tough chicken.
