Raqqa, Syria
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."
Frosty Beer should be the third tap on the Kitchen Sink.
My pronoun case is made from the hide of an old thesaurus. You know, the olde reptilian with an excellent vocabulary.. ;-)
Or maybe its just Naugahyde..
Thought you Brits didn’t drink it frosty.. ;-)
Vast Herds of Thesaurus used to graze the wide open grasslands on the continent now known as Antarctica.
And a pronounced gazetteer.
Alas, Only those of us who insist on keeping the ancient traditions of Flat, Warm Ale alive wither at the the edges on first sight of a Pump on the Bar covered in condensation.
They even Chill the Cider ,Now! Disgraceful.
:)
Yes. Yes indeed, it should!
:o])
I’m off to bed for the night. See all y’all in the morning!
Good luck!
My Grandfather’s barrel of cider was at cellar temperature..
Considering it was a barrel I doubt he noticed that the volume decreased a bit on occasion.
I know that the entire contents of the barrel were never consumed as a drink. I know that because we never ran out of excellent vinegar. It put this watered down filtered standardized stuff that falsely carries that name to shame. Just as real whole milk (you know, from a cow) does to the commercial version of the stuff so named.
Cider Vinegar!
Sounds like an invasion of Acetic acid bacteria arrived uninvited during the fermentation.
What a blow to morale.
Cow.....Cow......Hmmmm......
Leg on each corner, wet nose, Rose Fertiliser.
Nope, Can’t Picture it. :)
"It's just an interesting post number. End of a page. 50 twice, etc."
It's a great deal more than that!
It's the sum of all the numbers from one to one hundred.
Which is also a way to seem like a genius. If your grade-school teacher gives the class an assignment to add up all the numbers from one to one hundred, (and your name is Carl Friedrich Gauss), you simply add the first number (one) to the last number (one hundred).
This gives you one hundred and one.
Then you add the second number, (two) to the next to the last number, (ninety-nine), and you get another one hundred and one.
Continuing, the third number (three) added to the third from the last number (ninety-eight) provides ... one hundred and one.
Obviously, for young Gauss, this eventually yields fifty pairs of the number one-hundred-and-one, or to simplify ...
... 5050
Ta-freaking-da.
.
It's a cute trick, but just how useful is it, really?
Well, obviously, it isn't limited to just 1 to 100. You can use any sequence of numbers, (even an odd sequence, carry the one unpaired number in the middle!), pair them up, and multiply.
It's how to take a short cut, if you're a genius, or if you've heard of one.
Wow. Maths.
I took the Cubs outside and let them clobber one another with foam swords while running through the woods. Very successful meeting.
Back in the day, we had to use cardboard tubes.
That’s going to be a beautiful cat when it’s full grown.
The dark colors will be darker, still, so they will contrast nicely with the white.

Rescue kitten from Seattle.
Good morning. I’m going to Weight Watchers today.
I just got an email from WW yesterday. I thought they had given up on me. Haha! I’m tired this morning, but I’m going to take a shower and maybe lie down for a short nap.
I feel worn out after yesterday. For some reason. And I have to clean the fridge today. I wish I had some knee pads. That would sure make the job easier. I’ll see if I have an old towel I can use instead.
After my shower, I think I’ll take the bandage off my left index finger today, and see if that helps in the healing.
Sounds like a plan. Tom and Bill are leaving for school ... not a moment too soon. I’m tired of them.
Of all things...I push my reading glasses up onto my head when I’m puttering around the house, and I was in the shower this morning, letting the water run onto my hair and realized they were sill on the top of my head from when I put a baggie on my bandage...Is this the second Monday this week? It sure feels like it! LOL!
The cut looks good, and as I said last week, it doesn’t hurt, except for a tiny bit close to the nail on the inside of the finger. So for now, the bandage is off. :o]
