Raqqa, Syria
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."

The fact that 4 people are dead and they are worried about the rest of the building collapsing at any time due to it having been prepared in the same manner does make the story fit.
The problem with that building is the manner in which it was constructed.
It was built around the equipment inside it. The Boilers can’t be removed intact.
You either spend time extracting them pipe by pipe or do what they tried.
The weight of the boilers prevailed.
Frightening to think I’ve walked under that building on many ,many occasions when it was running.

This has been a good day, already, so far!
I got a FB conversation with a niece and a nephew, who are first cousins. The niece, I’m very close to. The nephew, not so much. (He supports Bernie Sanders...)
My back is hurting. (Stop complaining, ‘Face...no one is interested!)
The sun is coming in the living room window and the Good Luck Kitty is doing a good job, waving in the luck. I think he’s had a tough time, trying to get through all the spirits of those who have lived here in the last 50 years. However, he’s making headway, because I’m on the list for St George, and that’s awesome!
Now if the Powers That Be don’t tell us we have to move sooner, I’m good. Charlie hasn’t put in for a place, yet, and I think he is afraid to. He’s 76, and walks every day, but he is happy here — until he thinks about it. LOL!

Good for Elen. I hope she qualifies. I was never good at math until I got my first calculator! I still have to rely on it for some things. At least I don’t have a checking account to try to balance! ;o]

I told two of my nieces that I was on the wait list for St George, and they are excited! One of them lives in St Geo, the other in Idaho.
The only other place I’m going today is the ramada, to hear the latest scuttlebutt, and try to solve the world’s problems!
(The thought has crossed my mind many times, that I would like to spend about a year in GB, visiting the homes of my ancestors [mostly castles] and seeing places I’ve only read about, including Oxford. But I can’t even afford the passport!)
When I was at Walmart, I picked up a package of yeast, as I found a recipe on FB for artisan bread. I wanted to try it out on the peeps at the ramada, but when I got home, it was nowhere to be found.
I didn’t remember taking it from the cart and putting it on the belt at the checkout counter. It wasn’t on the receipt, so now, I will have to go back and get some. Dang. Maybe I’d better get some more flour, too. I just buy the small bags of it because I use it so seldom, but if the artisan recipe turns out good, I may make it fairly often. That’s “often for me.”
Anyway, it was disappointing.
Well, our final homeless outreach is tomorrow. We’re looking at a partly cloudy day with a high of 44 Fs.
Last weekend someone went straight from the Church where we had the meal into a 30 day program which is designed to transition people from the street into a disciplined environment where they can start turning their lives around.
I don’t know how it will go with him, but that’s why we do that (even when there are only 9 Fs outside).

Nine Fs was 2/13. We survived with all fingerses, toeses, and the tips of our noses.
My daughter encountered someone who was homeless in bare feet who would NOT discuss coming back to the Church for a warm meal. She would not talk with them at all.
Can’t say you didn’t try. Certainly have to Applaud your tenacity.
We had about 250 volunteers crawling Manhattan’s East Side.
Well, we were walking pretty fast, actually.
Oddly, we had more walkin volunteers that day than last Saturday, which was in the 50s.

Yessir! All of that, and more! I will try to remember to take appropriate pics when I get to St G, so everyone will know I’m there! Maybe I’ll have a niece and a nephew in the pic, as well! Wouldn’t that be fun?

I was out with the peeps, and one of them decided to make a beer run, so my usual 45 to 90 minutes turned into almost three hours.
It was fun, as it always is with this bunch, but I was getting hungry and I needed to take my noon dose of pills, so I left earlier than the rest of them.
My lunch is cooking... Maybe I will have a glass of Riesling with it. Maybe.
